It was such big news at the time, but honestly I'd forgotten all about it.

Perspective, I guess.

Will they finally learn the NRL are not going to tolerate this rubbish. It may seem harsh but it should be a loud and clear message

Interesting. Players get sacked from clubs all the time, but are rarely deregistered. Life ban?

Banned from the NRL may not mean much by the end of the year.

If there's a new comp, new rules. I'm definitely hoping it happens and the NRL goes into the history books.

Hmmm
I stand by my ‘he’s an idiot’ comment made when he was with Canberra.

Joey - less talk, more tackling practice

I have to agree with you TS,we were looking forward to him coming to us as a quality centre which we needed, however he isn't needed as a mouthpiece,he is needed to produce good football and win games not start conversations that aren't in his role description...

100%. Also, don’t tell us you’re the best centre in the game - show us!

You just gave me a brain explosion
Maybe when greenturd gets his marching orders
, we can hire him as a tackle bag
That would help BJ and Nofoluma

Well he has a fair point. Interesting no players rep have brought up the subject.
Dont think I'd want Joey as a rep though.

I agree with Joey. If the RLPA won't say it, then I have no objection to Joey saying it.

Greenturd, always very big on telling other people what to do - not very big on doing it himself. The guy should be sacked immediately.

And yes Pascoe and all the other CEO's should be taking a 75% paycut as well. If Joey hasn't asked that question, he should have. The RLPA is useless. If the NRL changes so should they.

Great post. Greenberg is the biggest hypocrite our game has possibly ever seen in it's 110 or so years. He is filth.
Good on BJ for calling the swine out, no-one else seems to have the guts to.
We don't need BJ to be our clubs' spokesman on every issue in the game, it will get us nowhere, but he is 100% spot on in this instance. People calling him an idiot are a bit over the top, IMO in this interview he has spoken well, not at all like an idiot. Also, whenever a player speaks to the media does he have to have his clubs' permission? Wondering if they do because ultimately they are representing the club.
If Madge had a problem with things BJ says in the media you would think he and management would pull him into line.

These are not acts of stupidity. These players made decisions to have sex with 17 year old school girls. This smacks of entitlement because as NRL players they are treated differently and in many cases looked up to by the community including impressionable girls. It is for this reason their behaviour needed to be beyond reproach. Instead we have them trawling for sex from perhaps naive country girls. Just a coincidence these things arise consistently at a few clubs? I believe these two should go for a year and the NRL undertake a review of the culture at the Bulldogs. I ask were these players suitable repß to interact with school girls? Who decided they were?

Why should the NRL investigate their culture. Make it the clubs responsibility and cost. If they do a good job, hey we're all winners, if not they can stay in the headlines.

I wouldn't trust the Bulldogs to investigate itself. Commissioning a review of the club's culture by an NRL appointed consultant ensures a transparency.

To be fair, the Bulldogs seem to be pretty transparent with their issues. Unlike some other clubs who sweep it under the rug, and even when outed barely get a slap on the wrist. Case in point Souths when Sutton and L Burgess were arrested in the USA and nothing was heard of the incident until weeks (months?) later. No action was taken by the NRL surprise, surprise.
The Bulldogs have a pretty dodgy history over the last few decades but they get hammered by NRL HQ when other clubs get free passes for any wrongdoings.

They were very dodgy and very good at sweeping stuff under the rug when Toddy was at the Bulldogs.
