Wests Tigers duo Luciano Leilua and Jacob Liddle were involved in a heated altercation and had to be separated at training last week at Concord Oval.

Foxsports.com.au understands that tensions flared between the Tigers teammates when 114kg back-rower Leilua took exception to Liddle’s passing out of dummy-half.

The Tigers camp say they have no issue with the duo’s heated exchange.

The club, whose finals drought stretches back to 2011, have recruited smartly heading into the new season.

Liddle, whose last few seasons have been wrecked by injury, is under pressure from rising young gun Jake Simpkin to secure the starting hooker berth.

The Tigers are currently in camp in Tamworth and will play Manly in a trial on the last weekend of February before kicking off their season against the Canberra Raiders.

Shows that Luciano is not all talk about taking a leadership role in this team. I'm all for it, I'm sure they are mates again by now. Although not sure why Liddle's service was no good, that's the best part of his game.

Put 30 or so amped up sportsmen together at one time and these things happen.

DUI INCIDENTS SWEPT UNDER RUG - FOR NOW
Here's an early tip: one leading out-of-Sydney club will be without two of its best forwards for round one.

The two stars were caught drink-driving in separate incidents and the club has managed to sweep the story under the rug - for the moment.

But it will all come out when the pair appear in court in coming weeks.

The Integrity Unit will then swoop, and is likely to rub the pair out for a few early rounds in a major blow to the club concerned.
