It all sounds promising, the majority have bulked up….power game - correlates to what Potter said a few months back re: "We have to earn the right to play attacking football"

I like

Every year all players start the season a couple of kg heavier than usual, halfway through the season they will have all lost those extra kg because of the weekly grind. Wouldn't read into it too much that they all have a little extra meat on their bones in the pre-season,it won't mean jack once the season starts IMO.

I think youre wrong.
Maybe at the start of pre season….but theyve all been going for nearly three months now

7KG in ...some cases is NOT 'a little extra meat on their bones'

Some players tend to start the season off plenty of kilos over their ideal playing weight (a lot of the Polynesian boys in partricular). During the season they realise it is affecting their stamina and mobility and they end up playing 5-10 kilos under their starting weight.
I would be very surprised if say Kasiano didn't lose over 5 kilos off his frame during the course of a season. I wouldn't be making too much of a commotion over a few boys bulking up by 1 or 2 kilos, means nothing

With all due respect but that is rubbish. In regards to the Wests Tigers it means a great deal based on last year's playing weights for most of the squad. Your argument in relation to the polynesian players is also flawed. Ben Murdoch Masila turned up on day 1 of the off-season weighing 118kg. He dropped down to 112 by Christmas and is down to 110kg now, his ideal playing weight. That's what the offseason is for. A lot of the bigger boys put on a few kilos during their 6 week break. They then have a few months to get their strength back up and bodyfat levels down, and their playing weight right.

Sheens had more than a few Tigers players a little too light last year and this has been rectified by Potter thankfully.

I would be positive that not many players, if any (unless they are injured) would weigh more at the end of a season than at the start so 1,2 or 3 kilos extra at this time of the year is hardly gonna turn them into raging monsters that will dismember opposition teams…to think it will defies belief to be honest. How many times do you hear in the off-season that this player or that has bulked up and will destroy the comp that year only to be a flop?. Plenty

I just hope Potter doesn't come out and say "our blokes have put on 2 kilo each in the off-season so we will be man-handling the opposition this year".
