Players on social media.

Have been reading a few players twitter streams to see about injuries etc and have noticed a few of the junior players who don't appear to know how to behave online. There has been a few very degrading tweets which i have come across and its not a good look for themselves or the club. Wondering if anyone at the tigers checks up on them and if they get proper training in the first place on "how not to be a dickhead" online.

Every 1st grade player in the comp gets training about media and social media.

Not sure how wide reaching it is though regarding lower grades.

Some people are going to be idiots regardless of how much you warn them though.

Ink, it's not really like Facebook :wink: you can easily see the comments they make towards anyone and some of the crap I have read is embarrassing, but sadly they don't appear too educated in the first place.

But it's good they get training, it should be all grades though if not the case.

Im sure if you stop following them you wont see it….theyre kids really, kids that play rugby league, theyre probably a bit wilder than every day kids....you need to be a bit out there to play this game, its not for angels or choirboys....youre looking in the wrong place if you want 'educated discussion'

Well if they stuff up and cross the line, they'll learn the hard way I guess.

Exactly a bunch of kids. Sometimes we expect to much. Let them have fun and if they do cross the line I am sure they will be pulled up on it,

Nothing wrong with giving them the right advice in the first place and avoid it happening at all.

Yes, they are kids but they in the spotlight so that makes it a different situation for them. It's one thing to stuff up and learn the hard way (who doesn't?) but the club and NRL do not want to get dragged down with them.
