The conditions were perfect for cycling but for the players, it was sheer torture at Centennial Park this morning.
Starting at 8am, each player in the NRL squad was ordered to do 12 laps around one of Sydney’s most historical and beautiful parks. Each lap was just under 4km.
Wests Tigers High Performance Manager John Skandalis and Assistant Coach Steve Georgallis joined the players for the laps. Some groups even rode alongside NRL referees such as Tony Archer and Shayne Hayne who were also working on their fitness for next season.
There were a few broken chains and a flat tyre along the way but each player came through the session okay.
The best performed group comprised of Tim Moltzen, Liam Fulton, Junior Moors, Sean Meaney and Mitch Brown, finishing the repetitive lap session in just on 90 minutes.
