Please....

Was there any positives from the Melbourne game? I don't want to watch it again and in the moment I couldn't see much. I believe we're in desperate need of a bye (and some recruits) and we'll bounce back but hoping someone saw something in that game that suggested it wasn't as bad as it seemed...
Seems silly to say but I actually thought our attack for the first quarter of the game looked the best it has. Looked likely every time we had the ball. But before we knew it we were down 4 tries from fairly innocuous chances

I agree with most on here that the team was monstered by a huge forward pack and smart backline ..
My other observation was the WTs had absolutely no COMMITTMENT to get down a involved defensively,at this level defence is crucial...
Just goes to show the difference between an experienced knowledgeable coach to a rookie..
End of story...

Even if both had played it would not have changed the result and probably would have only changed the score by single digits. Our forwards where monstered and it stemmed from that
I didn't watch the game how was Sione? Would you look at giving him more minutes?

The title says Please so can we please beat Souths on Sunday and post match announce we have signed Keaon effective immediately. Add to the Tongan connection.

This is a sh*t team who have had a very favourable draw. Avoiding the spoon will be a huge achievement.
Just 3 more wins and we should be safe. Only 3 teams in the NRL era have won 8 games and got the spoon. The common spoon result is 5 wins, which we have already.

We ain't getting the spoon. We have too much class this year. Melbourne exploited us, who cares, other clubs won't be able to as effectively. Latu can't come back into the club soon enough his defense is much better.

Better attack too, he’s just a better player imo and I really hope his injury issues are behind him. Galvin will be nothing more than a fringe backrower

Toa and Skelton are really being missed
Those two have been playing well for us. I also ask how many other club's first 13 do those two make.
They are losses but nothing compared with the losses some of these other clubs have.
Look at who Souths have missing this weekend....should they beat us, Id be cranky to see Toa and Skelton be used as excuses...

LM will be LM, Jye Gray is who worries me carving us up the middle 🙁 Bula needs to have a big game.

2004 was a giant leap forward for us as a team and as a club. We started to play some really attractive passing footy. We had won 4 games in 5 matches mid season, we were seventh and then proceeded to post 2 50-0 losses against the Dragons and the Roosters.

I was at that Roosters match. I stopped in on my way home from work on the train as a 1st year panel beating apprentice. It happens. I see a lot of similarities between that season and this one. Not saying we will win the comp next year. We were never going to make the jump from being wooden spooners to rolling a near full strength Melbourne in Melbourne after they had given away 2 leads in their previous matches.

I just want to see no massive losing streak this year with our full spine and May starting. That's the red line for me.

Without an injection of talent before the June cut off date our team will finish bottom four. The grind has just started and our lack of talent mixed with our terrible depth has been highlighted big time. At full strength right across the roster we can mix it with about 75% of the comp, but as injuries and players form starts to dip due to the grind setting in this percentage drops big time.

This is not just a negative reaction to a thumping. It has been the same story for a decade. Okay this year we introduced some quality to the roster, but we also lost some good players and we still have plenty of back up players getting picked in the top 13 every week. The quality players have to be surrounded by hardened NRL footballers like the Dogs have done.

Very favourable draw? We have travelled interstate 4 times in 10 games. Any other team that has had that amount of travel have had a bye. There is no excuse for 64-0 hiding but fatigue was very evident. But definitely no favourable draw.

Watched part of a podcast, don’t know who they were. They had tackle stats for the last two games, roughly against Dragons our right edge made 70 tackles and the left 40 against Storm right edge made nearly 100 and the left something silly like 30. We have a defensive issue that has been identified yet no change is made either mid game or before the next game. Big test for Benji to rectify this quickly or our season will go down hill fast.

If I recall, our left hand defence is where we tried to "hide" our current coach, when he was playing. So certainly goes back a while, and he should be well aware...

Yes champion @Tiger_heart ,all very well, but in the way the game is refereed these days, all middles aim for the smaller bodies, then you add in the constant 6 agains, a team might not have the ball for 10 mins, and that's hell for any defense.
