Plodders

Won't win too many games carrying some of the plodders we did tonight.

Both centres are utter rubbish and wouldn't make any other team's NSW Cup sides in Hoeter and Milone.
Kyle Lovett adds absolutely nothing to the team and neither do Santi or Galloway. Richards contributes with kicking which is only effective sometimes but is too sloppy in defense and slow otherwise. Glad Buchanan wasn't playing today as he is another that dead set hinders the team more than helping it. Luke Brooks is very close to being on this list as well. Appears he just doesn't know what to do. At least Moses is improving.

(Would have added Lawrence to the list as well but he seems to have found a home in the back row. Looked damaging).

As for the others:

Richards, Brooks, Santi and Galloway to NSW Cup.

Hoeter, Milone and Lovett back to the pub.

Replace these oxygen thieves and we may start winning games.

With who? Name your team. Our first pick centres in nofo and simona are injured. Should we have the morris twins in reserve grade waiting for a call up?

Given injuries, specifically for tonight's game I would have named the following:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Naiqama
3\. Seve
4\. Heleta
5\. Richards (Only because there's no one else for tonight's game)
6\. Moses
7\. Drinkwater
8\. Woods
9\. Halatau
10\. Sue
11\. Lawrence
12\. Akauola
13\. Taupau
14\. Seumanufagai
15\. Lodge
16\. Cherrington
17\. Funaki

And therein lies the problem shaky. Our squad is not up to first grade standard, particularly in the backs.

Sad as it is, it is hard to disagree.

We really do has some average players with seemingly little upside

And the ones that have some talent are still so young and finding their way and down in confidence.

We clearly lack a class centre and a damaging back rower… Although could be argued we really need 2 centers and 2 back rowers

We just have took my plodders mixed in our squad to be competitive week in and week out

However I'm trying to keep the faith as at this stage it's not really Taylor's fault for our squad this year with out salary cap mess etc..

On top of this we are apparently learning
A new structure and really we all probably thought we were looking at bottom few teams..but funny how we all can't handle it wen it actually does happen but are fine before season starts.. I guess we are all so passionate supporters and it burns even if we know we probably don't have the cattle this year.

I think losing tonight pretty much ends our finals chances.. Even though we are only half way.

It will take our halves to fire and the likes of Robbie and woods, Tedesco to keep strong and stay fit to give us any hope of keeping touch with top 8

Can we strengthen our squad for next year ? Will our plodders suddenly become quality players or is it just a matter of learning our structure with this squad. I think we need to recruit some quality but I fear that we can't afford or even entice anyone of quality

Keep the faith, but it's so hard being a tigers supporter

Its our outside backs that are terrible. I keep bringing it up but getting rid of Koro and signing Richards was probably the worst recruitment and retention decision of all time.

The team that played tonight is the weakest 17 I have seen named by any team this year. The list of plodders:
Richards
Hoeter
Milone
Lovett
Lawrence (played well tonight though)
Santi
Note: may be a little harsh but I'm still bitter from the loss

This is so true by the way (me included)

The likes of Galloway, Moltzen, Halatau, Hoeter, Buchanan, Milone, Richards, and Lovett all need to be either moved on this year or not re signed.

Lawrence i am okay with as long as he makes the number 12 his. He actually ran strongly tonight, tackled well and looked threatening with the ball.

The club needs to recruit a high class centre, prop and second rower and a probably a speedy and safe winger.

Until the club makes these tough calls and gets rid of all the plodders, and then actually gets the cheque book out and recruits some decent talent we are going to see plenty of results like tonight and worse.

Anyone know how Seve went today and last few weeks? Progressing?

Not on show tonight, has only been back a few weeks, will be playing his 2nd game of NSW Cup 2mrw.

Even fielding our best players, we just dont have the squad to compete unfortunately…

We may be able to carry the plodders if the rest of the squad were seasoned professionals, or even bring the kids on slower if we had quality in the wings. Simple facts are we dont, and we cannot.

Its going to be a rough period for us, the way the stars have aligned we have too many not good enough or not ready yet.

Mentality is harder to coach than any other facet. I wish some of the apprentices had more competent tradesmen to learn from. I feel it is going to be the biggest factor slowing the young guys progression.

I would keep Brooks for sure however this is pretty spot on. The issue is that we don't have the players to replace them.

Yeah definitely. Only one of the lot worth persevering with.

Lovett is ordinary. I'm sure he is a good kid but nowhere near Nrl standard

I don't think it was the plan to have him starting in first grade this year. With Lawrence playing backrow, Lovett will fall back to NSW Cup which is about his level atm.

Lawrence needs to be second row for the rest of the year. The lines he runs will worry the bigger second rowers and he can tackle well.
The other second rower should go to either Akouala or Sue. Siro can have a bench spot until he decides to pull his finger out and do some work
