I like the name.

I think it’s going to be a monumental task to get this team up and running though. I mean getting a fan base will be really really easy as they essentially have a monopoly over 10 million fans, but it will be very hard to establish pathways and actually lure players over. I have a feeling it will be a rough few years to begin with for this team even if they get an extra million in the cap or something as compensation, but would be really good to see them do well at some stage, just not better than us please thanks.

What do we think of the name?

Personally, I am a fan.
It's a good name. The announcement was made by the PNG PM, James Marape, which gives you an indication of how significant this move by our Govt and the NRL has been. This will unleash an avalanche of talent, both male and female, into our competitions.

The pathways to QLD Cup would already be set up wouldn't they?

I wonder if they have a feeder cup from Rockahmpton or Mackay etc to help them out too.

Someone who knows more about QLD cup, how are the Kumuls sourcing/ training people at the U16s/ U18s levels?

The big NRL stuff, I am actually not worried about. There is enough money to source flights, acc, safety stuff etc. The crowd will be there but the ticket prices would be peanuts like $10 or so (still something not PNG population can afford).

The scenes at their first home game will be amazing to see.

You'd think Broncos or Cowboys 1st up

How are they going to go drawing players? Can’t imagine a lot established first graders will be jumping at the chance to live in Port Moresby.
