POLL: Should the club fold and handover/sell the licence?

I fail to see the point of this thread.

When the going gets tough you throw it in. Isn't this the very attitude that has been our major critique for years?

Congratulations, you're edgy and controversial. Now, back to helpful discussion on how, and where, this club can improve.

Congratulations, you are free not to participate while enjoying the amazing financial stability of the club and supposedly brilliant 'pathways' (that have produced precisely f-all so far).

Not that I agree with the OP regarding folding, but you need to have some sort of goal posts somewhere. You need some type of accountability to the competition and to the fans. Where do you draw the line? Do we keep going 20 years without finals?

Clearly losses aren't affecting the $$$ , what's the motivation for the owners to get a competitive team in the comp?

Agree. That has nothing to do with folding/relocating, which is a pathetic concept and the one to which I fail to see the point.

To your other points, no doubt that is the case. I want results just as much as anybody, but, whilst we, hopefully, continue to try and improve that area, it's nice to not be bankrupt and to be putting all the background systems in place to be a powerhouse club off the field.

The alternative is we are a basketcase both off and on the field.

20 years ago plenty were saying merging was a pathetic concept.

So your contributions to a thread you've already claimed to find pointless are going to be fabricated things that literally nobody here has suggested eh?

The above alludes to the fact that you don't find that beneficial and/or that it isn't noteworthy. So you did, indeed, make reference to the financial position of the club.

The sarcasm meter on the pathways comment is noted obviously. Considering that it has been an advertised focus of the club specifically from 18 months/two years ago and onwards, I'm unsure as to what you expected a junior pathways system to produce in that time.

You mentioned relocation as a pathetic concept.
I said folding/relocating as an idea. I was more referring to the former as that seemed to be where the bulk of the discussion was going and the concept I find pointless.

Relocation is a more legitimate idea for discussion in my opinion, but I still think it too would serve no purpose. The locality of a club doesn't make Daine all of a sudden catch footballs.

So many opinions on how to run a footy club.

I bet you blokes haven't even sold a West Tigers mug let alone a Hat. What would you know about being a successful footy team.

Leave this up to Pascoe and Sheens to sort out. They know how to move merchandise.

Give it a rest. We are currently in last place and so many are giving up the ship. You have to remember that so many clubs have finished with the wooden spoon whilst our club have never been in that position. You cannot expect the players to have guts and resilience when their supporters have absolutely none. In recent history a number of clubs have finished last; Parramatta for three years in a row and Newcastle and for at least two years in a row. What did there supporters do - jump off cliffs. Don't be pea hearts and support the team at this particular time when it is most needed.

dumbest thread ever - just don't follow the team if it's all too much for you.
agree, this "idea" to sell the licence may come from the WT hater!
Re "relocation", the NRL history shows that attempts to relocate a team does not guarantee success e.g. GC, NZ. In fact, the only success story was the Storm, the only exception from the rule in the last 30 years!

It's a fair point re: the spoons, but we've also gone 10 years without a finals berth, and the early signs are that it'll be 11th. That's a long time to not even make the top half of what is at times a pretty mediocre competition.
It's an incredibly hard club to support at the best of times.
