Positives - Blair

I am not saying he was great, but at least improved on the first four rounds.

I am hoping this 'turning the back on the defenders' is just part of the off-load technique he has rather than a reluctance to take the tackle.

33 tackles and 11 hit ups I believe. Not great but he certainly did more work today.

Looks to be growing into his role.

The entire side is a work in progress.

It can't be easy to change clubs and be a smash hit from the very beginning …. It must take time.

I noticed a big improvement today as well.

He was much more involved today. Gould said in commentary that it could take the whole season for him to settle into the Tigers' style of play, after so many years with Melbourne. We need to be patient.

He did say that; but a change of club cant excuse not taking a hit up until the 16th minute (last week's game)

True, Pete - the whole team looked disinterested in the first 4 weeks, though. Hopefully, they have turned the corner today.

Hes a [This word has been automatically removed]ing forward it does NOT take a game plan to take a couple of great hitups i do 11 a game he is pathetic all he needs to do is run on to the ball in 80 minutes he takes two hits…...

Thought Blair was Solid, has the quickest play the balls and with Farah back next week hopefully he can take advantage of those quick play the balls

Try again…that gobbledygook makes little sense.

I must not understand this game. For the last few weeks I've thought that everyone was a little harsh on him, but from where I was sitting this was the weakest performance I've seen from him. A heap of missed tackles, crucial ones at that. Bad positioning in defence. The guys not earning his (very expensive) keep.

Your right you don't understand the game

I think everyone calling for Blair to play prop for us need their heads read. He gets crunched when he carts it up the middle. His best spot is playing wide in the second row as a forward standing in the backline. The problem is we haven't been getting a roll on at all because our front row are getting nowhere so when Marshall decides to spin it wide the opponents line is set and Blair's strengths are being nullified because he needs to be able to isolate defenders to get offloads away or use his fend. Opponents are easily getting multiple men into tackles on him AND Lawrence and that is why neither are looking effective. The reason he "improved" yesterday was because he realised he had to take some up the guts so it made him more involved but his impact was very lacking because he isn't a prop.

there is an expectation that Blair would be more dominate in the games he has played…......I dont think he has lived to the expectation to date........though he did play better againgst the rabbits........still a long way off being the signing we thought he would be

his defence in the middle was very strong, thought he had a couple of good runs and overall was pretty good.
