Positives for the year 2026

The season started well, but we have no depth. Our best 17 can make the finals, we just need to keep them on the field.

I was happy with round 25, 25-24 win over the Rooster. We still had some bit left in the Tiger

Ethan Roberts and Javon Andrews went well for rookies.

Heamasi Makasini will be better for the increased experience and can see him being a great player in the future.

I love Api he is a great leader.

Your positives for the year?

KPP & Taylan, genuine first graders that look like they're here to win... something we've lacked for a long time.

Royce Hunt, looked like a beast off bench - before injury, scoring tries and up for it... still something to offer in my opinion. Looking in crazy good shape too.

Alex Twal & Alex Seyfarth - continue to grow each year and seem to be finally get the recognition they deserve. Genuine club men.

Injuries hurt us a lot this year & we lost a lot of confidence as the year went out. The confirmed additions will be good for us & hopefully we can add a few more.

The one to watch for mine in 2027 is Latu & Sukkar - both about to have break out seasons for mine if things go to plan.

Also, looking forward to the 2026 world cup.

I thought Sukkar had a really good year, stepped up when needed, just hope we resign him as he is still only around 22 I think

Some players tried to fight this year and I would keep them on squad as a result. All the kids were terrible and need a tonne of work.
This is our worst year in some time.
Changes need to be made or next year will be just as bad.

Just got my offer to re new my membership , is it a positive or negative for some it’s a good question as there would be plenty folks very disappointed, but me , I’m just gonna bat on and do it all again , I’m Wests Tigers .
On the positives for this section , I agree with Demps , he hit what I would have said ,

Way I see it,weve got no new talent whatsover...Averillo is just a straight swap for Toa...
Weve poured all of Luais $$ into contract top ups for incumbents, paying way above market for players who arent in the conversation at SOO level.Simply paying on potential
Were wholly reliant next year on the kids being a year older, and having improved to NRL level
....,plus an injury free season...
Both rarely happen
I believe Douhi will leave, and despite the much warranted criticism,he was about our only line breaker this season.
Also Think Fainus are a big chance to depart as well, and if not, will absorb what remains of Luais salary.Again ,all based on promise and potential, rather than actual performance
WTs on a knife edge..cld easily fall back to the spoon next year, saved only by Bears
Im less than optimistic with Benji at the helm tbh, particularly with no Richo
Like everyone, the new ceo has potential, but needs to step up

Positives:
Our start to the year showed we can match it with the big boys, we just need to figure out how we can sustain that level of performance.

The way we played in the last few rounds gave me some hope, (a dangerous thing for a WT supporter) for next year.

If we can keep injuries to a minimum we have a pretty good foundation, I believe a top 8 side. We look to be investing in some experienced recruits and if it eventuates they will provide some much needed leadership on the field.

Negatives:
Depth, we need to invest in genuine 1st graders to shore up our depth, looks like Benji knows this, but lets see what they can achieve?

Halves, who are our halves next year, I’m not keen to two inexperienced halves.

Adam Doueihi, I don’t think that’s sorted, hopefully they let him go in the next few weeks, otherwise I fear it will derail or season. This brings me to…

Resilience, we never seem to be able to rise above the drama, I player leaves and we fall to bits. Hence the need for leadership.

Leadership, our on the field leadership was poor, our ability to close out a game, to make the right decisions, hasn’t progressed much in the last 10 years.

Having said all that, overall a pretty poor year, started off so well which got the fanbase hopeful only to capitulate as the season went on. Probably the worst year as a fan in recent memory, even though I think there is hope (that evil word again) for 2027.

Certainly missing on field leadership - during a game our forwards need to lead the way and at the back end of a game it’s more the ball players who need to step up and take control. We don’t have either types of leadership really.
I see AD as a road block now - he doesn’t fit the team and the direction we need to go. I can see another ugly outcome with him and I hope it’s sooner rather than later.
On a positive note, I think I got a glimpse of the team we want to be at a few times this season. I don’t remember seeing that too often in the past few years. For years I’ve been saying that in the modern game the quality of your edge players is extremely important. Look at the edges of all the top teams. We looked Ok with SamF and KPP fit but as soon as we lost them we dropped off. The same happened in other teams as well.

Winning 3 games in a row for the first time in forever (though it did us little good) and Luai leaving are the only positives I can see.

A lot of positives this year

No one got done for drugs

No one got caught on mad Monday

No one got done for gambling on matches

No one got done for bestiality

No one had to miss matches playing origin

We did not get 80 points put on us 68 close but no Cigar

The season finished on time at the end of round 26 no overtime this year

So all n all a great year
