Positives

Really?

I thought the kid was excellent. Ran the ball to the line, defended his butt off and threw some nice passes. Given how our forwards were dominated i thought he was impressive.

I thought tonight's game proved that Lui is by far our best option at 7.

Oh and that Moltzen isn't a fullback!

Miller played well, but didn't organise the line. I rarely saw us in the attacking "V" formation that I was used to seeing when Lui was in control (really have to be at the game to see this).

There are no positives from a game like this. Only that we are fired up and ready to play smart and hard against the Bronco's in a week.

i like the kid a lot and hes only learning but i agree he was pretty bad tonight….poor kid.....good luck next week buddy.

I think Miller is a positive though he had some errors. Kicked one out on the full and a couple of his passes were a little off. Apart from that he was very impressive for a young half. Does play like Pearce does. Strong defence and not afraid to take the line on.

I like rob lui and have been one of his biggest fans on here but i didnt see that at all tonight. Rob has put in a lot worse performances than that. We lost the game in the forwards and under the high ball.

Where on earth does Moltzen go from here? Another topic.

On Miller, I love the kid. First 10 minutes my jaw was literally on the ground. The courage and confidence he shows is just amazing, he's not great now but there is so much potential there and that's what I love about him. For now I'd have Lui there for sure, when fit, but I reckon this kid is now the backup halfback. Of course, Sheens probably won't see it that way since he'll stick with Moltzen at half when Lui isn't fit.

Moh i dont disagree at all. My post is in the context of the circunstances. An 18 yr old HB playing in a side whose forwards were dominated and he didnt take a backward step. Loved it.

When our forwards did perform - on the first 15 - he looked sensational.

Positive for me was our defence.
Besides the first 15 minutes we didnt have an attacking set so I thought we did well to stay in the game as long as we did.
Another positive…. The Titans wont be title contenders this year.

And the fact that surely Sheens wont ever use such a game plan again.

I didn’t think he had a good game at all. Tried very hard but too many mistakes. He wasn’t on his own in that department either. Did not really help in the flow of the team either.

x2

We need lui back asap. We lack direction and creativity without him.

Miller has a future in the nrl but at this stage he needs to develop his game in the 20s. For tonight game I give him a pass mark as it's really his 1st proper game with the big boys and our forwards did him no favours tonight.

Mike

What was he meant to do?

Take the hit ups for our pansy forwards.

We didnt lose tonight in the halves.

I dont mind a couple of mistakes.

The kid has incredible potential for mine.

There was definitely some positives for Miller, he doesn't take a backwards step in defence that's for sure.

I agree that we had no go-forward which didn't help matters.

But Rob Lui is definitely 1st choice half back (when fit) at this point.

I think Miller should be the half whilst Lui is out though, as he'll improve with experience.

Actually I agree with Southern here.

The kid tried all night, tackled his backside off (one desperate 1 on 1 tackle on bull Bailey stands out), and hit the ball at speed.

He is 18!!! give him more game time until Lui comes back.

too right ST….no halfback can be good when his forward has been owned....i thought the kid showed plenty of guts ...i bet he wouldnt have baulked if he was at the back like moltzen did .....stupid thing is ,, we all know moltzens capabilities at fullback

Millers attitude is great. His defence is great. But im not sold on his passing game just yet. He passes the old school way where the ball doesnt spiral. The ball seems to not travel as quick this way and its much less crisp. Goes against our stryle of attack IMO. He does it when passing both left to right and right to left. I think its something he needs to work on. Very good kid though.
