Haven't we had this thread already ?

Would like a few more new faces make the team before 2022.

Gildart is going to disappoint a lot of yas expecting him to be an NRL starting centre as soon as he gets here.

I think gildart might take awhile to get used to the speed but he will be fine will be a better option than chee kam and gives paugai time to develop

Gildart will be fine? What are you basing that on?
Have you seen him play?

With reports of MCK potentially going to Souths and Pauga needing a lot of work, I hope we go to the market and recruit a centre.

The names mentioned aren't FG quality.

Talau needs a break out year 2022, he's been extremely underwhelming but appears to be in the plans so expect him there.

Dark horse is AJ Keapoa- looked good for 20 minutes playing his natural position at centre before being injured.

Anyway, With AD out and no recruitment ... I think our round 1 team will be:

1 Laurie
2 Nofo
3 Talau
4 AJ
5 Maumalo
6 Brooks
7 Madden
8 Twal
9 Liddle
10 Utoikamanu
11 Luciano
12 Garner
13 Offa

14 Jake Simpkin
15 Blore
16 Seyfarth
17 Mikaele

18 Kelma

Not exactly ideal...
But I think we'll see some movement over the next few months before kick off.

Hopefully Garner off to Manly and Nofo off to Parra and some suitable upgrade.

Gildart is poor and will have to improve immensely to get out of reggies.

I watch most of the wigan games i see alot in gildart there's alot there that madge can get out of him now whether or not that happens is another story but id rather gildart than Asu 'can't catch' Kepoa And garner off to manly would give blore that 12 spot i agree with that move 100%

AJ Gildart

I laugh every time I see someone write about Kepoa as one of our starting centres.
Based on what? Half a good game in the centres preceeded by multiple performances on the wing that wouldn't get him a run in Ron Massey Cup?

Gildart's an International.

It will be a while before Gildart plays first grade. He’d be last in the pecking order of all our outside backs. He’s a glorified development player.

I like AJ, his hands are fixable. But obviously still very much an unknown.

We definitely need to go to market, these kids need time and reserve grade.

Do you think he'll be able to get more out of him than he did Roberts and BJ?

I think we need a big shake up next even if we have pretty much the squad next year. The young players we have given a go this year need to be given first crack. Jake Simpkin would be my starting 9 next year. Hastings or Madden have to be half.
Brookes has to be moved to 5/8 or released.
AD as a ball playing lock. Noffa dropped to get his focused again. Like Cleary did when he came to the club.
The leadership group made up of the young players coming through.
They are the ones who will get us back to semi final side.
On the coaching front we need younger assistant coaches who can relate to players. I would be telling Madge 2022 is his last year unless he gets us to the semis.

Just going off the sqaud we have at the moment. You'd love to have some new signings to get rid of the deadwood but don't see that happening.
