He told the world that Sheens hadn't been sacked, and he was talking to him on the phone etc. Few hours later after the press conference he was telling the world not to listen to Humpty and that Sheens was sacked etc.

The guy is only slightly better than Buzz on the "inside mail". Which isn't saying much at all.

if Potter is coach i can wear it ,but why in gods name would we go with the same assistant coaches ?
bring in new blood all round , and to those who say they dont expect miracles , well i do , i expect a new coach to have our good squad playing finals football come next september , we have the cattle ,so there will be no excuses for mine .

Maybe so they dont have to pay them out as well 1/4\. And as Potter was in UK for so long he probably wouldnt have his own.

Making the 8 next year won't be a miracle, we were only just out of the 8 this year after disastrous position selections/injuries and 80% of our squad not playing well.

A miracle will be fixing our cap situation within 12 months, turning Groat into an Origin player straight away, winning a comp and bringing peace to the Middle East.

But making the 8 is a realistic goal in 2013.

I don't think the club can afford to pay out the coaching staff. I agree, I'd like the new coach to bring in his own staff, seems ridiculous he isn't.

According to the following English media report dated July 2012 Mick Potter was prepared to coach without pay. On that basis I don't think he will be pushing Wests Tigers for a huge salary in the first year and I
believe that he will be Wests Tigers Head coach for 2013.

"Sacked head coach Mick Potter in shock return to crisis club Bradford

Bradford Bulls head coach Mick Potter has returned to the club. Dave Howarth/PA

Mick Potter plans to return to Bradford's training session on Thursday and hopes to be in the dugout for their Super League game against London Broncos at Odsal on Sunday, less than week after the head coach and the rest of his coaching staff were made redundant by the administrators running the club.

In the most astonishing and potentially significant day yet in the drawn-out Bulls saga, it emerged that far from being forced to play under Brian Noble, the former Bradford coach who had been the first choice to succeed Potter, the players were instead keen to link up again with the Australian and his support staff – under whom they secured a famous win at Wigan last Friday.

Noble had already admitted to second thoughts after being surprised by the negative reaction from Bradford supporters, and although the players did not refuse to play under him, there is no doubt that they have played a part in persuading Potter to rethink his initial reluctance to work without pay. "I just feel I owe it to them," he explained. "I'm doing it out of the goodness of my heart – at least I will be, provided I'm allowed to by the people running the club. They're a great group of blokes, the players, but they need some direction. It's not been the greatest preparation for a game on the weekend, you could say that. But I'd like to give it a go."

Potter was Super League coach of the year in 2008 after guiding the Catalans to a third-place finish, 12 months after taking them to the Challenge Cup final, and he also steered St Helens to the Grand Final in each of his two seasons at Knowsley Road. **He joined the Bulls on a two-year contract after leaving Saints at the end of the 2010 season, but has been working without pay since being made redundant by the administrators on 2 July.**
>
His reputation soared after guiding Bradford to the brink of their first play-off spot for four years despite the uncertainty surrounding the club due to its financial woes.
>
But for a deduction of six points, the Bulls would have finished sixth instead of ninth in the Super League and the new owner, Omar Khan, confirmed on Friday that he wanted Potter to continue.

Not only a well regarded coach with multiple accolades, but a class act all round. Please WT sign the guy up! I'm not expecting miracles from him, but I think he is the guy to lead us into our next era.

great guy, and also did it for no pay… Sounds like the perfect fit for us at the moment!

When did Royce Simmons sign?

I don't know that he has signed. There was talk after he was sacked by St Helens that Sheens was going to bring him back as an assistant.

Latest scoop is Mick Potter will coach with Steve Georgalis and Royce Simmons as assistants!!!

Simmons and Georgallis eh?
So much for a real change….cant even sack a coach properly.

Most new coaches bring their own people/assistants with them....if this on the knocker then we got all our coaches meeting for the first time....having to learn what each one is good at etc etc...then theres the players.

Should be a great 2013!!

i am comfortable with Potter but georgie girl and roycie (bursts into tears).

I think Sheens was planning on having Royce back. If that is the case then I don't want to see him back.

If he stayed chummy with Sheens then he was never critical of some of the insane decisions Sheen's made.

Stoked if Potter gets the gig though.

Unless they have clauses in their contracts that a change of head coach makes their tenure cease, or they chose to leave of their own free will then I don't think the club will be able to pay them out as well as Sheens if the dire financial situation at the club is true.
