Potter- ization

Every coach needs to ensure that they do everything possible to make their team successful. The more the players whinge and whine about training the better. If some of the senior players think they are above training hard then they need to go.
Good on you Potter I say.

My old coach had a saying he enforced at training - "If you whinge or complain ONCE about training being too hard, I'll make it harder." He even bought us singlets with the saying on the back so whenever we were training or running behind someone we would be constantly reminded that if we did complain, we were in for a hell of a tough night haha.

The team gained so much respect for him for it and we were by fair the best drilled team and fittest. If the boys are complaining then they should toughen up or spend the year in reserves. I hope Potter is hammering them, they need a tough approach.

Sadly for all the courage and desire shown … The game plan let us down badly at Gallipoli ... That was one instance where the coach needed to be sacked without pay.

I like this supposed true story from Gallipoli

Group of Diggers were waiting in a holding area not far from the front line, when a British Colonel and his Subaltern appeared riding their Camels, as they came through the men parted and as they passed by there the usual low mutterings etc, just as they are leaving the area the Colonel turned to his Subaltern and said "some of those men are more intelligent than one would think!" Really Colonel said the Subaltern". "Yes said the Colonel, "they knew the sex of the Camels we are riding!". "How do you mean Sir?" " Well I distinctly heard one of the men say look at the C**ts on those Camels!

How are the rehab players coming along. All on deck for Trials and Round 1?

Not too sure Watto… besides Miller I don't know which other players have gone under the knife in the off season and how far that will put them behind. I guess the ones who had serious season ending injuries like Sironen, Tuqiri and Tedesco and are still in rehab would be the biggest concern to be ready for the trials.

Lote's arm should be well and truly right to go. Sirro's shoulder may not be ready in time and as for young Ted, hopefully his knee is recovering well from the meniscus injury he suffered and he's right to be given half a game in the trials.

Fulton was sporting a wrist guard during the wanda sandhills session recently.
