Potter's contract

From this point on, what will he have to do with this side to get another contract beyond next yr? Doesn't matter if we don't win another game this yr, his hands are tied and there is only so much he can do. Clearly this season is a write off, so what will be the minimum requirement from the board in regards to next season?

Exactly what saints did with Price. Extended him for one year because of his great recruitment.

Is he only on a 1 year contract? I liked the appointment of Potter at the start of the season but we are playing the most boring style of football seen in a long time.
Defence is worst than when Sheens was in charge. I know we have a lot of injuries but most of those out injured were not setting the world alight either.
The recruitment of the years has been terrible in paying overs for players and buying players that do nothing to improve the squad.
It is becoming quite embarrassing watching a great brand that has been built up over the years being torn apart. This club is becoming the laughing stock of the game and some serious questions need to be answered from the people in charge.

Potter will be very lucky to be here in Round 26\. I doubt he is thinking two years ahead.

He's contracted for next yr as well. Recruitment is obviously going to play a huge part as Milky was alluding to. I just don't how whoever we sign at this point will make much of a difference. You gotta feel for Potter, he really is in a worse position then Kearney was at Parra

I feel for Potter. He's inherited a terrible squad AND they are injury plagued.

He has attempted to promote youth and make the best of what he has.

He should be given the right to clear the decks and be given another two years to do so. Allow him to deliver on his own terms.

There is no way Potter is in a worse situation then Kearney at Parra.

Its chalk and cheese. Just ask any Parra fan.

No structure no discipline no game plan. I'd hate to say it actually I really hate saying it I think Potter would make a great assistant coach but that's about it

I'm sure tons of Wests fans would beg to differ

Some Wests Tigers fans don't tend to be in touch with reality and hate being shown up as wrong….

Even if he is contracted at this stage I'd cut him loose and bring in Payton for the rest of the season.. Even if Payton has some issues with his mates still being in the team I don't think it could get worse than it is now. For next season i'd try to move on everyone Payton has played with other than Robbie and start fresh. Might be a couple of crap years but i'd rather see young guys having a go than the garbage that is happening now. This is way worse than the Lamb days effort wise.

As long as he doesnt ask for a payrise he'll be sweet….theres no one cheaper

Reality? here's the reality - He walked into a club whose board is divided, one half of the JV is almost bankrupt, divided supporter base, 3 home grounds, no established halfback or fullback, some players reported to being on 500K and producing nothing, an ex-coach who ripped the heart out of the squad over the last 2 yrs.

You're telling me he's had it better? ok

Yes. I'm telling you that.

To be fair he carried a club that was bankrupt but that should not be a prerequisite.

The bloke is obviously trying to establish himself. Our 2nd tier cap is maxed out and we have a horror of a injury situation and he is promoting players on merit.

Give him another two years and give him free reign to do as he pleases. It was fine policy for the last coach for ten years?!

You are right, Eels didn't have players on $500k+ producing nothing, I mean they had Hayne on $650k and Sandow on $550k but they were value buys right?

Or their board had continually being overthrown each election. Remember 3P? Fitzgerald then Ozzy? Super secure Board status right there.

Their junior nursery being completely ignored for years and years?

Reality tends to be an equaliser. Thats why I subscribe to it, fantasy is nice but not great for winning arguments.

I have never heard one player say Potter is a good coach or say he has good game plans. He is way out of his league and the team gets worse each week.
That's the only thing the club can do..bring Patton in. I said it before and I will say it again Potter is a dud. A failure. The senior players are playing worse than ever did under Sheens. The team just looks totally lost. Potter has concentrated on defence yet we have the worst Defence in the comp.

He has ruined our attack. Is Fulton playing 5/8 why is he always standing in the backline.
Farah to Fulton. Marshall to Blair….that's out attack.

The team is playing with more spirit/commitment/call it what you will than they did last year. Give him credit for that at least.
