Potters meeting with the new board.

When Brown took over Huddersfield they had finished 10th the year before and had scraped to 6th and 9th the 2 years before that.

In his first year 3rd and made the Challenge Cup final
2nd Year - 5th and made qualifying final
3rd Year - 4th and 2nd round of finals
4th Year - 7th and got knocked out of finals in wk 1

Then made the finals in his first year with StHelens they came 5th and has them coming 2nd this year after 17 rounds

He also has coached a lot of former tigers - Hodgo was his captain for a few years at huddersfield plus Liam Fulton, Lolesi, and he is currently coaching Laffranchi and Flannagan.

While he is remembered for the slap at the Dragons, it did give him 150+ NRL coaching games and at a young age which means he has over 10 yrs first grade coaching experience.

In his first year with the dragons as a rookie coach with his mates playing they finished 10th in 2003 but after that
2004 - 5th
2005- 2nd regular season
2006- 6th but made it to wk 3
2007- 13th after some big retirements in the offseason Barrett, Bailey and Timmins as well as loosing Gasnier in the trials
2008- 7th

So he has done well in his early NRL career, done well in Super League , 10 years experience, his links with Hodgo, Fults, Lolesli, Flannagan indicate he is wouldn't be a chance if he wasnt a good coach as thier opinions would be saught

He would be my preferred choice with Daniel Anderson the other option I would consider

Yeah Brown has done pretty well , but he has had some bloody good sides that probably should of won at least one title

To be honest I'm not overly sold on any one coach as yet , still lean towards Potter getting a fair go and seeing what happens

Cripey, didn't one of the NT Bookies,Centrebet ?,name a property after him the year we won the comp.Saints started fav. nearly every match that year with the roster they had and if they did win the match they usually lost the line market. I doubt he can help our roster.

I'm hearing Roy Masters is being considered for the Manager of Football Operations but the players are worried about possible face slapping.

A couple of them deserve it.

Mails red hot about brown getting the gig .my question is , what does brown bring to the tigers ? Griffin would at least have a few broncos he could snare to the club .thats Potters problem ,he dosent attract anybody with class to the side .hurry up and do the job board .

I think that Brown will bring to Wests Tigers exactly what Potter did - a low starting salary.

I would have thought that if potter goes then it's sayonara to his assistant's as well.
If brown were to get the gig you would think the new broom would bring in his own offsiders, including trainers and conditioners

So Brown will be allowed to choose his own assistants and conditioners? How come the old board chose Potter's assistants and the conditioners were those that some-one else had chosen?
The assistants and the conditioners are also part, if not a big part, of the problem! Why not allow Mick Potter to have the opportunity to operate with his own team and THEN judge him?
