Knights beat Rorters 58 Nil....gee their season looks done

Yeah the Knights are done and dusted

You would wonder why the Roosters even bothered to have a game ? Not one regular first grader in the squad.

Western Suburbs Magpies defeated Penrith 18-14 in their trial today.

That is a good effort. Who were the standouts and try scorers?

Only saw the score mate sorry I’ll try find out

Thanks.

A good win to the Cup side. Standout for me was Johns who made a lot of metres. Our 13 (Talau?) and Mavonni strong. O’Hagan & Madden again very good.

Cini on the right wing got a try after Panthers dropped a bomb and Kei got a try after Johns went high and flicked it out the back. That was the only time Kei saw the ball and I believe he got 4 tries in Flegg the night before?

We are going to be strong with this side I suspect. Forwards overall were very good with minimal errors yesterday. My only query would be our lack of ability to play enterprising footy. Hoffman must be a winger because he doesn’t seem to be able to set up his outside and is dying with the ball with Cini left hanging a number of times. In 2 games I’m yet to see him pass it and ditto Johns (apart from the bomb which was great). However Johns made so many metres which was great for our go forward - would go well in the pack somewhere for mine. Cini had some time at fullback and went ok - not sure that is his go either. We will get more from him on the side if we can get it out there.

A lot of positives - good halves makes a big difference & will be key to this season.

How did Simpkin go ?

He went pretty well. Must admit I should have watched more closely to see his work from dummy half and around the ruck but seemed to go ok.

Thanks for the great update. It seems we are greatly strengthened and even this early, Kei is emerging as a genuine centre prospect we have lacked. Madden's progress also suggests our development systemand his hard work have paid off.

Mitchell still looking 5-10kgs too heavy for fullback

Now ... did he look like a $1M+ player?
Was mostly loitering in back traffic.
Also Lomax (another of our off season targets) had a absolute shocker .... and he was/is also on big money. Having said that he probably will kill it when we play them in round 1.

Great to see Fox have worked on detailed analysis. Voss spends 10 minutes discussing the health and safety aspects of Brad Arthur’s standing on a ladder. Give me strength. When’s cricket season start?

Worst caller in the NRL - should just call him "Sidetrack" or "Mr. Distracted."
