Press conference

Think Jt sums it really well here. Wonder if those key moments are discussions with the man next to him.

I haven't liked JT so far but that was a quality press conference. We have to play better but we are close.

Based on coaching or in press conferences??

Surely option b.

I have a man crush on JT. Love a coach refusing to blame refs. Mistakes happen. Move on.

Raelene Castle should make Des watch that 10 times a week for the rest of the year.

He has just said some stupid stuff. His comments on injuries were dumb. His comments regarding the previous coaching/S&C were also really dumb.

That press conference though gives me some hope. We need to be a better team but we are close.

It's a stark contrast between JT and Des isn't it?

I liked the way JT shut down that last question too. He agreed there were turning points, but wasn't going to share his analysis with the journos. I'm glad he's keeping his criticisms private and not airing dirty laundry in public.

Sometimes a well directed ref spray can be effective. I'll never forget Brian smith Giving the refs an almighty spray when he was at the roosters. Next week they play us and get every single call and double our penalties.

Whilst I hate coaches who cop out and blame the refs every week, every now and again I think a spray is necessary.

Good on JT for not blaming the refs for our defeat, must be a first for Nrl coaches. I thought the Warriors were very lucky to be awarded manu's first & thomson's try. They say the really good teams can overcome poor ref decisions but that's 12 points right there. With the competition so close it's hard to overcome these things.

I was pretty happy with how we hung in there. All the boys from 1-17 look hungry, we just need a full 80 mins where everything clicks & I think that will break the shackles for us. Really looking forward to next Sunday at Leichhardt.

how was it dumb? Care to provide reason for your statement?

Well done JT,a very classy presso, didnt bag the refs and didnt critise the players publicly…..

JT...small in stature....mountain of a man....

I think it was dumb for a couple of reasons:-

1\. It was delusional. Injuries are going to happen.
2\. He was hanging crap on the previous coaching/S&C staff.

Loved this press conference,

I agree with Steve i didnt like the comments bagging the previous coaching staff, I think it is poor form.
It is the rubbish the Politicians do, I also think it set him up for failure, injuries happen, if he cops a few he has the potential to look silly.

I like JT for his smart footy brain, the courage he has of his convictions and the way he handles press conferences.

But I am so looking forward to the time when he lets players play what's in front of them more! Because there were a couple of attacking moments in that game where we took an option that was pre-meditated that did not work, when another more likely option was staring us in the face.

(Did like his words "we shoulda won that game. We shoulda won that game."

JT you are quoting me there!!)
