Pressure Mounts on Marshall to make his call

Marshall having a second row forward struggling for consistency and a very lame defensive centre/wing combination on the right is a far cry from Gareth Eillis.

I don't know why people are getting upset..next year doesn't matter ..nor the year after as 2023 is where it's at maybe..2024 tho lookout as no one has a contract for then..

It's called principles ...if Maguire is fixing the club he needs to start sorting out the weaknesses now ...not waiting until he has his "war chest "

My thoughts too regardless of "what people here think about next year"

Seriously the fact we've left recruitment up to a player is part of the problem... Who's running this joint?

So same applies to smith at storm?

Smith would stroll into any NRL side any day of the week, you can't say that about Marshall anymore.

Tigers are being nice. Benji will retire. If we are smart Benji is an ideal halves coach and Chris Lawrence in some form of mentoring or strength and conditioning role.

Are they being nice, if I am betting I say they are being stupid, Benji should have no decision to make, a smart winning club would have tapped him on the shoulder 2 months ago.
The writing has been on the wall all year that he is not up to it anymore, I said 2 months ago this would drag on and be a distraction, this is not about the club, it's all about Benji, just like Cam at the Storm, ego's personified, only difference is one player is still playing very well, and it's not our bloke.

Madge says there is no time frame for Benji to make a decision in regards to next year.

if Marshall goes around again I'll be seriously considering my membership status. what's the point of injecting money into a club that would send a clear message that it's happy to be mediocre for yet another year?

Apart from Jennings/Packer there is nobody who has played worse then Benji this year and they are both well and truly in the garbage bin

**Benji would also attract genuine interest from rival NRL clubs if he wanted to test the market**

Which club or clubs?! It made me laugh.

Please, let one of these many clubs fight over him, we have no roster spot or need to carry a 36 year old liability next year.
Regardless of what people think of the quality, we have plenty of blokes on contract who can cover 6 next year, Grub, Walters, Madden, Douiehi, Talau, Mbye just off the top of my head, it would be reckless roster management, but that is how we roll

If Benji stays ...he doesn't love the WT's like he claims ...he loves himself more

Think of all the true champions ...not many go out when they aren't on top ....Benji is closer to the bottom than the top now ...he has screwed his legacy

Of course he loves himself more, the call would have been made months ago if he loved the club more

I'm happy for Benji to stay one year. I dont have more confidence in putting our other guys to become full time half, Walters, and what not?, and we can't afford a half on more money than Benji either, we have bigger weaknesses IMO. Hopefully 2022 we can assemble a team to make the finals ?

No, he can’t play on and if he does it’s because of his own selfishness and stupidity by the club. He’s taking up a valuable roster spot and is an unneeded and unwanted distraction for the club. He’s cooked. If the team do give him a contract for next year we don’t deserve to win anything.

If we are dumb to allow him to play next year, it won't be about deserving of not winning, we will be incapable of winning

think he still plays better than reynolds.
Although would rather see benji carry the water like Langer does he could help in that capacity bigtime

Looking at Broncos defensive stats, not sure Alfi is doing such a great job?

100%, it is not as if Benji has lead us to a mountain of success like Smith at Melbourne, they have a perennial winner in Cam, we have bottom 8 Benji

He's allowing a great player the time to make his decision. Excellent player management from Maguire.

That seriously is the worst option to take. How many more tries do you need to see him let in before he calls it a day
