Pressure on the kicker

Why are players allowed to block players who are trying to put pressure on the kicker. I've never seen it penalised and it happens all the time. How is that any different to block plays when there is a high ball to catch.

They aren't allowed to move... As long as they're inside they can stand their ground... But cannot impede a chaser

Players can stand their ground but I am talking about when they change their line to block a player

They get penalised - seen it stacks of times. You must not watch many games.

I watch every game you hardly see it penalised. Just saw it again in the Sharks vs Cowboys game. The player blatantly changed line to block a player from pressuring the kicker and it was play on.

Many players are getting away with minor indiscretions since the one referee. There have been at least 2 dozen high tackles missed that would've been called otherwise. I'm not complaining though as these are all minor usually.

What I hate most though is the tackled player preventing the tackler from going to marker, happens in every game.

the rules are very loose in all accpects of the game, got no answeron that

Funny this thread popped up before the Raiders game... I thought Rapana was dudded in this game. He planted his feet and never moved. The fact he never had eyes for the ball was inconsequential seeing as the attacking player never tried to move around him. Rapana was on-side and thus not obliged to move away from the descending ball in play.

Obstruction Rule ..A player who is not holding the ball shall not be tackled or obstructed.
Was Rapana intentionally obstructing the attacking player? The ref ruled that it was Rapana’s intention to obstruct the attacking player. I don’t see any issue?
Had the ball bounced in goal and in the direction of the attacking player Rapana would have looked more guilty of obstruction.

I had Raiders up there with Panthers to play in the GF before season start. If they’re going to put focus on trying to make the refs look silly then I’ve gotta think they will struggle to make the GF? Ricky needs to cool it before it gets embedded into Raiders culture.
