Probable Cyclone

Wouldnt even know it was coming up here although its unusually hot.
Ayr and Bowen are in big trouble unfortunately.

Even a place like Collinsville would be in trouble getting whacked by a category 2 system after crossing the coast and travelling a while

Struth, that rag is really testing the wrath of God this time. The very religious Philippines cop super typhoons, earthquakes and volcanoes - so I don't think that prayers help much.

I will refrain from further advising on cyclone as have personally experienced one.
 
Just saw the Ch9 feed from Bowen and they were interviewing good ol Mike McLean outside the family pub.

Not much has changed, he still isnt the brightest tool in the shed.

Looks pretty bad out there!
 
Looks like it has slowed right down and may cross the coast about 1pm, which may help with storm surge as it should be almost low tide at least by then…though as happy said the slower it is the more destruction it can cause
 
They are not expecting it to intensify much further, but the slower it goes means high winds for very long periods.

They are saying the Eye will take 3 hours to pass which is a very long time for locals before the show starts again!

Theyre not asking for anything. Just showing defiance. They know life is going to be very hard for a while following this.

Agreed… I changed my honeymoon in 2011 from Fiji to North Queensland after Yasi to spend our money in the local communities devastated by that cyclone.

If your planning a holiday/getaway, think about spending time up here to help the locals rebuild financially!

Its in Qld, so they would be stating the REAL time, not your Mickey Mouse Clock time in NSW!
 
The media seem dissapointed that Debbie hasnt killed dozens and totally flattened the whole far north coast. We barely got touched up here and they are everywhere lol….
Parasitic scum they are.

Really surprised their isn't much more damage , probably lucky they didn't get a direct hit on either Bowen or Airlie

Don't know about you Stryker , can't stand Airlie Beach

Yeah, you could see the disappointment in that ambulance chaser David Koch's face.

I'd been back in the country three hours yesterday morning and I wanted to punch the bejesus out of him. Our flight path was in the vicinity of the storm and we didn't register any turbulence. Copped more flying over Indonesia.

Gotta love the locals attitude and how they take these things in their stride.
 
Gotta love how the media pounce on a bloke trying to make light of a crap situation and spin it into some controversy.
