Lui Polimeni was concussed during a tackle and collapsed on the field after reportedly suffering stroke symptoms while playing for Gundagai Tigers on the weekend.

Lui was flown to Canberra Hospital in critical condition where he was placed in an induced coma.

The club posted on their Facebook Wednesday saying the 15-year-old “fought a great battle but was not able to recover” before releasing a statement today confirming the news.

Very sad News…

R.I.P young man, what a tragedy.
Hope his family at least find some solace at this awful time in the fact that he was doing something he loved when it happened.

Makes our problems of complaining about club and coach seem insignificant, I hope the family can get over this terrible incident and can have some form of normal life.

I agree, this would be extremely hard to cope with.
Cherish the time you have with your families.

The wife has already ruled out league for my young tacker after the news of all these park footy injuries.

Condolences to the poor kids family. Absolutely devastating to lose someone in such a way.

All my thoughts go to the family, friends and team mates. :frowning:
Heaven has gained another angel.
R.I.P. beutiful boy.
