I can see both sides. It’s not fair on the club to have a player pull this card. However, when a player has the year he had, its natural to think you are underpaid and deserve more for your output.

He signed a contract. He’s only got more more year, keep playing good and you can get an upgrade. I don’t have one good week at work and demand a pay rise.

It’s also got to do with him having a new manager, he doesn’t get a cut of batemans current contract so he’s trying to get him to sign a new one so he gets a cut.

I don't think he is worth 800 k ....he is a bit like Reynolds ...good player if he is in a side that suits his style

Personally think he wouldn't be a good fit here , looks like he plays well of the back of a big powerful pack of forwards

Mate he is a slight upgrade on ET, smallish, good work rate with some skill. Like you I don’t think he is the second rower we need, especially at 800g

"Never once asked for a release"=upgrade me asap or ill sign elsewhere in Nov and we'll deal with the consequences just like Mattersom
"Canberra are tight on the cap next year"=they've told me I have a contract for 2021 which we all agreed , and we'll talk about it at the appropriate time
"..they have nothing for me from 2022 onwards"=of course they do,but not as much as my manager promised me when I appointed him
"I love the Raiders and want to be here"=Im open to offers,sooner the better.Cost of living is high in Australia...!

He's a bit Blairy , right fit ...right team ..if we get a few others around him yes

But we need a 6 , the right 11 , possibly a 9 , 1 top shelf prop , 1 good prop
