Nathan Brown at number 6? You need your head read!

1\. Bellamy by a mile
2\. Arthurs- doing great with Parra
3\. Bennett - can’t stand him but his record is great
4.Cleary - from what I’ve seen so far
5\. Flanagan - has built a great roster
6\. Green - getting better and better
7\. Barrett - on the way up
8\. Brown - seems to get players respect
9\. Robinson - not sure. Needs to win 2018 I think
10\. McGregor - goes ok in patches
11.seibold
12\. Brennan
13\. Pay
14.Stuart - way too tense and uptight
15\. Griffen - doesn’t get player buy in
16\. Kearney - doesn’t seem to have it

Thats Happy for ya…always a 'controversial' element to his pieces...wait for the reply!
Shoulda been a DT journo, or talk back shock jock Hap

A Coach is mostly only as good as their rosters…

Rank the Rosters would have been a better idea...

Cleary is a good coach. He handled some petulant players with poor attitudes extremely well last season and cut the cancer out of the club. He has then bought reasonably well and hopefully we perform better than what we did last year.

I don't care where he gets rated because the coach is only as good as his cattle. If Cleary gets the most out of the team he has at his disposable that is all we can ask.

Very hard to rank coaches as there are many attributes which contribute to their outcomes.

Executive Management & the Balance of Talent in the Squad all play a major part.

I've put them into Tiers:

Teir 1: Bellamy, Green, Bennett
Teir 2: Robinson, Flanagan, Arthur
Teir 3: Brown, Barrett, Stuart, Griffin, Cleary
Teir 4: McGregor, Kearney, Brennan
Teir 5: Seibold, Pay

Where they finished last year with the exception of Pay he goes to 16 and every coach on that finished under the dogs moves up one spot.

1\. Bellamy
2\. Green
3\. Robinson
4\. Flanagan
5\. Arthur
6\. Bennett
7\. Barrett
8\. Stuart
9\. Cleary
10\. Brown
11\. Griffin
12\. McGregor
13-15 (in no order as they are untested) Brennan, Pay, Seibold
16\. Kearney.

Kearney is last because he is honestly the most hopeless first grade coach I have seen. He makes JT look like Jack Gibson.

Bellamy by the greatest margin, Not cause he has the big 4 plus the rest (Inglis, Hoffman etc)

Virtually every player i can think of is a better and more disciplined player after time under him.

Brown was a hard one Ink

He has seen both ends of the spectrum , early on he had a team of superstars that should of won a premiership and didn't and it cost him his job

Then he had a side that no one expected anything from and has attracted many players despite winning two consecutive spoons

I think Brown would have learnt a lot from his first stint as an NRL coach and I think that Newcastle will challenge far more greatly for a Top 8 spot than the WT's will personally

Cleary had a fantastic record making the Top 8 4 of his first 5 seasons but has only done it once in the last 5 years

The WT's will need to recruit some much needed talent in 2018 to be a Top 8 chance in 2019

We are very likely to be spoon favourites in 2018 along with the Titans

I think you forgot a team called the NZ Warriors while you were away…

I know your deliberately keeping your expectations low Happy, but there's no way we'll be fighting for the spoon in 2018.

Might be spoon favorites - but no way in hell will we get it.

Not many coaches can capture my attention when they talk about footy…Sheens was one, I could listen to him for hours talk about the game
Trent Robbo is another...I love his outlook, attitude and philosophy to the game

Good coaches dont need to prove anything if they keep getting offers at the good clubs...I keep hearing ppl say "Oh lets see how xxxxxx would go at cellar dwellar team''...as watto said, what they have at their disposal, the rosters...is whats crucial

I was thinking how good next year will be with a coach and players who we can respect. I've missed that. We had a crybaby, a captain who disrespected the club, a guy who dogs his teammates in any way he can (trying to pick up their women & blaming them for his poor on-field performances) and a coach who refused to confront the cancer.

We are on the way up.

Sheens could really come up with some great game plans at times. He has some monumental stuff-ups but when he got it right we were great.

With the teams that Bennett had at the Broncos Ink could have won 5 or 6 premierships.
