Rankin stakes claim for Moses's vacant spot

Its a long way back for Rankin to earn our trust.

However, at the ground last night and in the circumstances, i thought he went quite well, particularly in defence. The short stint at the back with Teddy off was terrible, but otherwise he was good i thought.

Neither are FG quality to be honest.

Of course they're not but we're talking about the best available five eighth option and, even though some of Rankin's fullback and wing play last year were diabolical, I think he deserves a chance to play in his favored position, especially after strong performances in ISP. The choice is between JLJ and Rankin and Rankin is the best option.

I don't think there's a person here who would have him in the starting 17, but I dare say he'd be a decent half… if he had more speed or strength.

And skill

We already know how you feel. :deadhorse:

it's funny, we got 36 put on us but in the first 20 minutes it felt good that brooks/moses weren't defending in the line tbh

Tell him he is dreaming. Would need about a 100% improvement to even get a look in. Very poor in my opinion.

Rankin certainly doesn't seem to have many admirers. That said, he was pretty good last night playing in the halves. He's also a decent goal kicker which we need now that Moses has gone. Can't see any reason why Ivan wouldn't want to continue using him at five eighth at least until Tui Lolohea has joined us (assuming he does) .

Yeah, we obviously don't have any other options for the moment. I suspect either could do a job alongside Brooks, but the two of them together isn't going to wield great results.

Rankin will do a job in the halves for Ivan,it is his favoured position, just remember he is stepping back up to the NRL team and needs a little time to get used to Brooks alongside of him…also even though there are plenty of people bagging the heck out of Jordan,he will give a 200 percent effort because he is Proffessional and not a self centred twat like the bloke he is replacing in the interim..Jordan would probably admit he makes mistakes, unlike some who think they don't make mistakes..

Id give him another go next game at least he kicks goals and that could be important in a tight ga…oh wait..
