The selections are not as crazy as they look. I particularly like the selection of Madden in the reserves. If either Brooks or MBye begin to slip in their game during t his match then Madden is ready to replace either one and could very well surprise many people with his steadiness and abilty yp get the backline moving.

They have slipped for the last three years

Well, if they slip again on Friday they are likely to never play 1st grade for West tigers again. They have had more chances than they deserve. For them its either wake up and play like first graders or bludge as usual and get shipped right out.

Stefano dropping is the worst call of all of that. Bizarre, he's been one of the few shining lights.

Hate that Madge had a go at senior players in his press conference then kept brooks in the team and dropped two rookies

What the hell did Stefano do wrong to be dropped? He's been excellent this year

Why the hell would you swap Mbye and Doueihi?

Madden on the bench doesn't make sense to me either. He's an out and out halfback, what use is he on the bench? He's not a hooker and taking brooks off 60 minutes into a game would be stupid too

Ridiculous list. Would love to hear an explanation from Madge about it

It's a brave move from Maguire. He has rolled the dice and his poistion , just like half of the team is really on the line.

Brooks to Hooker and Madden in at half? Can't see it happening but an option.

Hope Madden can do something for us. A lot of people were keen to have him in the team - there you go. Have some doubts..

There is almost no way of convincing me this legitimately is the side that will take the field. Madden must be a starter if he is in the 17, either Brooks or Moses to drop out; that just for a start.

This looks to me like Madge is scared to drop Brooks by picking 3 different halves.

Surely Madden starts and Mbye comes off the bench. All done to take the pressure off Jock.

Don't feel bad for Stefano. He's really young and a spell in reserves won't hurt. Wouldn't have done it this game though as he killed Knights last time.

I don't understand Douhei in the centres. Who's going to get him the ball there? I though Luc was really starved of ball last week too.

Very weird if we run out 1-17. I can only hope Madge really wants to win this game so is playing with their heads.

And even if we do win, this is not our best 17 by position. You want to win based on consistency, not on people playing hard out of position to prove the coach wrong (e.g. Noffa playing on the left).

I still refuse to judge Madge based on on-field results but this team list (even if we do win) shows he's started clutching at straws. He's thrown everything that the players worked hard for during the pre-season out the window.

Disappointing.

Don't mind this shake up. Can't see it being any worse than what they've dished up so far. And if it is worse, well it can only be the same end result anyway.
