Yet he was kept over Laurie by the club that bought them both through.
Laurie has a long, long way to go to make it as a permanent top grade FB in my opinion...

There could be lots of reasons why a club opts for keeping one player over another. You're using that Penrith decision to justify your opinion that Daine Laurie is not a high quality fullback. IMO, you're jumping at shadows.

I'm justifying my opinion based on last year.
Most of the other clubs in the NRL had a better Fullback than us (Some had 2) and I don't see that changing next year.
There were in fact better fullbacks than ours that debuted - Telling me there's clubs out there that has players in 20's or reserves that were better than our 'NRL' Fullback.
ps: you'll go a long way (outside this forum) to find to find these things:
- Someone who thinks Laurie is better than Edwards
- A club who intentionally gets rid of their best player in a position, To keep their 3rd/4th best player in that position. (Laurie wasn't even Panthers second choice)
Edwards is not very highly rated by any fans besides Penrith fans mate. I've seen people say Laurie is a better player than he is that aren't tigers fans for sure - not that it matters for Penrith.
I never said I rated him, I said he was rated higher by his club than Daine Laurie...
He's also rated higher here (FWIW)

Be hard to argue all those players and the extras I mentioned haven't shown more than Laurie.
Funny our 7 rates middle of the road and more than enough fans want him shot, Our FB isn't even in the conversation and he's almost royalty.

Facts are facts, (Despite where they come from)
Those that are listed and the ones I mentioned are among the "Better" fullbacks in the game, And ours isn't in the list... and it's not close.
It seems people here only rate our players off only watching our games, I actually consider the talent of other players in the same position throughout the competition before I bang on about how good or how bad ours are...

I'm not sure what you're arguing anyway. Has anyone on here said he's better than Teddy, Latrell, Turbo? Or have they said he's really good. People say he's good then you argue he's not better than those guys but no one is saying he is haha
Like I said, there's a lot of good fullbacks in the league. He can still be a real good talent without being in the elite category. **Stop trying to find arguments and be negative for the sake of it and let people say Laurie is a good player, because he is.** Keen to see him continue to develop this year and hopefully get himself into that elite category in a few years
