Referring is the only job in the world where you cannot be criticised for your performance no matter how bad you are…bad calls from refs used to be a part of the game,now it’s gone to another level where they decide who win or lose.

Referees are the High Gods of the NRL. They control which team wins the matches. Most often it is as disastrous as sending a player off for a 10 minute stint in the sin bin for a player being accidentally off side. Supporters and players may soon need to bow to the referees as they enter the field.

The refs cop a hiding from the media and public at least once a weekend so are far from being in a position where they can’t be criticised. Coaches and players can’t publicly come out and question their integrity but have avenues to question each call and state their opinion.

Could you imagine the free for all if coaches and players could rip into the refs as much as they wanted? It would be brutal.

What a disgraceful performance by the refs. I counted over a dozen forwards passes by the cowboys and not one called. They take that try off us which was flat at worst. Why don’t we get calls?? I don’t get it.

So many forward passes by the Cows, allowed to play on .. !! Normally when the crowd goes up as one after a forward pass the ref's actually then call it forward .. but not tonight.

The refs were bloody horrible tonight-kept the Cows in it when they didn't deserve to be. Can't think of any teams bar us that get rorted at home- happy to get the win playing against the system that's for sure .
