Referees....

there's absolutely no consistency with the NRL on kick chasers being run off the ball. One game i.e. the bulldogs VS Broncos game a slight nudge from the defender is penalised. Tonight i counted at least 3 times where tigers chasers were nudged off the ball and play was allowed to continue without a penalty.

Last week we had a player sent to the bin because we were so slow and messy around the play the ball. Different set of rules for the Cowboys last night it seemed.

It's a severe lack of consistency overall. At the beginning of the year there were a lot of penalties, but it seemed clear what they were trying to do, now, nothing and it appears only 1 side per game cops it while the other gets away with whatever.

There was the kick chase, lying all over us in the play the ball, pretty confident they were offside a bit and a lot of forward passes that they got away with.

I don't know, we seem to be back with certain clubs getting the rub of the green over "lesser" sides.

The Cooper non sin bin was a weird one for me. He was never anywhere near being on side and tackled a player in an attackibg position shutting down the play. Taylor was question Sutton pretty hard about it

Ahhh the media and NRL were gunning For this headline today: “Thurston wins indigenous round” now they’re lift with “Tigers out muscle the Cowboys”

**Rowdy's pass looked slightly forward ….**

But so did a heap of Cowboys passes

Nope I was in-line,…it was fine ..Suttons a flog,,

He was appalling last night. It was like he was trying to keep them in the game or even trying to get them over the line. They were trying to slow our PTB all night with some success, they threw numerous forward passes and generally were given a leg up all night. The scoreline in no way reflected our dominance.

As I said before, Henry and the clown come up with some howlers but thats through incompetence , the bloke last night has a real nasty streak to him

I watched the replay last night and happened to turn it on this morning about 2 minutes before about 40 minutes ago , its 1/2 a metre forward mate

Those black ,white and gold sunnies work well :sunglasses:

Zzzzzzzt…those camera angles in that corner at Leichhardt are deceiving...ground slopes away....touchie was fine with it,,,almost dropped me pie .....

Backwards out of the hands....Newton's Law 101...Sutton Flog...

My pet hate is these wingers moving two metres off the mark putting the markers out of play….if the markers engage it’s a penalty. Feldt did it all night....skd got us in Newcastle. If we do it penalty for poor play the ball. It’s a joke..,,how can you be that dominant in first half and they get 3x more penalties?

My pet hate as well. Some players/sides have it down to a art form. Inglis, Slater, Smith. They stand up and plant the ball a good metre forward and immediately put the markers off side. The real problem is, the dumb referees fall for it, like they do the deliberate pass into players who are in no way impeding play the balls.

My pet hate with the NRL for literally two decades with the NRL was the ridiculous clock not being stopped when the ball was not in play. I wrote a letter to the NRL and the Sunday Roast 5-6 years ago and Vossy replied to me and agreed that the NRL was the only sport which did not have extra time or time stoppages when there was no play. Seems they are stopping the clock these days a little more.

What irks me more recently is when the dummy half deliberately throws the pass into the player a few metres away from the ruck to get a penalty. In some instances a penalty should be awarded. But when a hooker throws the ball straight to the person on the ground then that should be an error to the team with the ball. It looks comical.

it should be play on if the ball is thrown into a player who is passively offside. Stupid referees are encouraging this by paying a penalty. Nrl just needs to send letter to clubs advising this.
