Release Tedesco and Woods before June 30

Woods was good yesterday but the 65 mins he played 2 days after Origin last week was pretty epic.

I think this is lost on people. Sure, he's going to the bulldogs, but anyone who doubt's his commitment to the team in 2017 need to take their blinkers off. I shudder to think what would have happened without him.

He was a stand out yesterday. Also noted his ability to manage the game in the last 10 minutes. He is going to be tough to play against.

The way he dogged us for the Dogs hurt pretty bad. Left a bad taste in the mouth. He is supposed to be our captain, and he's leaving because it got too hard for him? Because he wants to be one of the pack (with support around him) and not a leader (leading the pack) ?

He has been trying hard and probably playing well recently, and so he should. He is leading the team in metres and stats (and he is our best forward, has the most size/ strength/ skill - whichever), but he is not a true Wests Tiger. He is not a true captain. I think he only remains captain at the moment because that's how Clearly thinks he can get the best out of him for this year, and also stripping him of the captaincy probably wouldn't be good for the playing group.

Still have zero respect for him with the way he carried on, but as long as he puts in for the rest of the year as his position as captain and pay packet dictates he'll get the credit he deserves for his on field efforts.

He has been good in the last two games. Shame it's only come once the year has already gone for us, which only disappoints me further.

Personally I think the problem is when all the contracts stuff was going on, he did seem to lose his commitment, spending so much time on telly and giving stupid vague answers to things, putting his foot in it at other times, his performances were always ok but they were being tempered by this off-field nonsense.

Here was our captain and one of our best juniors in the last 10 years, being all non-committal to the club, talking rubbish off-field and it just gets the fans all off.

Since the contract stuff is behind him and he's done away with the free media, Woods' game has come back and the fans have warmed to him again. He'd put in extra yards in and around Origin when you could understand him taking it easy and asking for a rest.

If Woods had handled the contract situation like Tedesco, i.e. shut up, people would be far better for it now. And Woods really did seem unable to keep his head on straight with the off-field drama.

Tedesco on the other hand played the contract situation pretty well, same manager and all, but just kept his mouth shut for most of it. Problem for Tedesco is he gave some really bad interviews at the death and now his football has fallen right away, then he plays some outstanding football for NSW and all the fans wonder where that epic level of commitment has been for us. In other words, gets to the brightest stage and $$$ on the line, suddenly he's a different player, and he's pulling out of club games when we are desperate for a win.

Moses is public enemy #1 and will probably always be, but Turdesco has really lost me the last 8 weeks or so, I just smell Roosters all over him, the ads, the indifferent performances when you need him most, the suddenly huge games when he's playing with his best friends under the spotlight, pulling out of club matches etc.

i like aaron woods.
signing with the bulldogs and the manner in which he answered questions about leaving was poorly done.
all he had to say was that he loved the wests tigers but needed a change. As simple as that.he should have had someone wiser advising him how to speak to the media in those signing contract times.past history now of course.
to me,he has been our best performer this year.
i will enjoy his performances for the tigers for the rest of the year.when he plays next year for the bulldogs,i will watch his game with interest.i hope he is injured in his games against the tigers.
for those older magpie fans, watching terry lamb decimate wests teams was never pretty.Dont want to see that again.
as for tedesco,i dont wish the young man harm, but i do think he will have an injury plagued career which will ease some of the pain for wests tigers supporters.

TBH I am emotionally disconnected so long as Tedesco and Woods are playing.

The manner of their ill-timed departure paraded us as pathetic rejects. It was humiliating.

Fans have been left despondent. Our heroes departed and we are sickened the way they treated the club, disgusted by the media, but most of all disgraced by the way our club continually shows no backbone every week, at team selection time.

Sure, Moses was an instigator and Teddy's loss was completely heartbreaking but Woods, well, he was just the worst. As I've said before, the Captain of the Costa Concordia is an apt comparison. And the fact that he is still named club captain is a blot on this club. It is demoralizing for us fans to see that he is still there at all, let alone Captain, every single week. The management of our club need to realize that the Tigers are nothing but for the fans and that if you want respect from the fans then you have to give respect.

Maybe I speak for myself (I'm sure many of you here disagree) but it's high time the management start doing things that will make us proud to be Tigers fans.
Firstly Dump Woods. He may wear our colours but he ain't a Tiger. He doesn't represent me.
At least strip his captaincy.
Woods is the antitheses of what our club should stand for. Of what ANY rugby league club should stand for. I would hate if he actually had influence over of our players. Is this the standard we want our juniors to strive for?
He may wear an armband but he is simply not a captain.

Tedesco should also start making way for our 2018 potentials.

If you want to stay on this bus then you need a ticket. These two blokes cashed theirs in.

Bout time to drop them off at the next stop.

My biggest problem with Woods is that he plays great a couple of times per year. The rest of the time he gets really good stats but doesn't impact the game positively for us at all. That might be harsh but he is often a massive problem with slow hit-ups and play the balls in the opposition 20.

KingSiro - I basically agree with all your comments but I'm not sure if I agree with dropping them. I think you are going way too easy on Turdesco. I can't stand the guy and I think he will fit in great at the rorters.

We need to win games and if they help us win games we should play them. They have both though not exactly been the players to lead us to big wins. When they don't play I wonder how much we really miss them. Woods was great yesterday but his next outing we may see the good old sloth man hit-ups and play the balls.

Woods' interviews were embarrassing. He played well yesterday against a very weak pack. Lets see him take on Manly, the Roosters and others in the last 7 rounds when origin is over. Hope Matulino flattens him in the last round.
Most of those players on their way out are completely focused on themselves rather than the club, Aaron just didn't want to be known as captain spoon

The guy is an embarrassment all round.

Re the Roosters game; imagine if Cleary has devised clever tactics to finally beat them. Imagine if he has worked out weaknesses in their players, or in their team formation, or in their defense/attack.
Why on earth would he want to divulge all the details to Tedesco? :bash
This is another perfect illustration of why, as long as he is there, the rest of the season is not only completely superfluous, but detrimental to our future.

Basically, for a metaphor, the relationship is over. It was a tough break-up and we were left broken-hearted. But the lovin was so good that we are electing to stay friends with benefits. Which works if (a) the break-up was mutual, (b) it's in the best interest of both parties who are momentarily happy to not work on their future and © that lovin remains incredible.

I can't make a case for any of the above (it wasn't mutual; it's not in our best interest to defer working on our future; and Teddy isn't even playing that good anymore).

As far as I am concerned a clean break is much better. We are not a charity. We are not Roosters (or Bulldogs) nursery.

He played great in the toughest position on the field. He makes it look easy. He has an usually style for a prop because he is so big. He's footwork just before hitting the line is all about getting his offload away. If he gets four offloads away like yesterday . It's a game breaker.
Both our new signings can get the ball away. But no one does it like Woods.

Correct but it will fall on deaf ears with some

Doesn't matter how well he plays, he'll never get a lick of respect from me. The months of distancing himself from the club as captain was unprecedented. Then the constant fool he made of himself week after week on 360 when he would blatantly lie and say he hadn't made up his mind when we all knew he was long gone. A vile excuse of a captain. And while the anger towards him may simmer in some, remember, he publicly stated he'd go even further with his feelings once he was out of here and in his safe space at Belmore. Not even leading us undefeated for the rest of the year, somehow fluking 8th spot and winning the comp could ever win me back. He's trash. And when he's telling his sob story over the summer, many of you will agree.

Let's wait and see how many games like that he plays this season. My bet is that he won't keep playing to that level.

So does this apply to our incumbents at other clubs too - should they be dropped for fear they might share tactics with Ivan when they come over, that their current coaches have devised. What a debacle the comp would be if thats the attitude taken by coaches when the system allows contractual negotiations to take place at the beginning of the season.

Spot on TT…don't forget how poorly Woods conducted himself from day 1 of season 2017 until the day it was announced he is leaving us for the Dogs.....He will go down as our worst ever Leader and Captain, he strung the club, supporters, sponsors and he never openly supported the WT during his contract negotiation year....Good riddance to Woods despite his best game in 2017 last weekend against an ISP rated side.
