Margaret court was named so because of her ability, not because she is a spokesperson for Australian values.

She probably shouldn't be asked for her opinion on anything, or nor should she be a role model for our youth.

However if you took away honours and rewards that people have received due to idiotic thoughts and statements, there wouldn't be any sporting heroes left to admire their talents.

On a personal note, I prefer stadiums named after the sporting elite that played there not some corporate sponsor.

I wasn't beating her up about it.. I was simply stating the name of the stadium was made because of her sporting record.. I was in favour of it staying in her name..

It is fact that she will be remembered for her playing ability and not her opinion on same sex marriage.

If you're using a Bible as your reference material maybe. That is not the definition of marriage in modern dictionaries. I doubt other religions define it that way either - hinduism and buddhism wouldn't…

Actually Master Chief, marriage predates modern organised religions, it had nothing to do with the Abrahamic God. Marriage is an institution that has been hijacked by the Abrahamic religions and cast off as their own.

I don't agree with renaming arenas etc, but if you put in opinion out in a public forum, expect that people whom do not share that opinion to disagree. If SSM is not an important topic, why did Court feel the need to bring it up?

If I came out in a position of celebrity and said that Australia should adopt state atheism, would you and your religious community not come out and protest against that?

I think certain lobbyists bait people cause the furor created by a vocal minority serves there purpose.

We just need to remember that we live in this place called Australia that is so beautiful and free.

Yeah fair enough mate, I didn't mean to come off like I'm having a go at you. That's the way the world is though, if people feel that the beliefs of others are a catalyst or in support of denying them rights they will have something to say. If someone said I had to pay extra tax for not being of a particular religion you bet I would squeal like a pig about it. It's human nature to protest when you feel you're being disenfranchised.
