But I honestly and sincerely do hope that all of you maintain your dignity, honor and pride
by keeping your word and not renewing your memberships .

Because I think it will go along way to helping me get better quality seats when I renew mine .

But you'll enjoy the atmosphere with shocking crowds and even more shocking performances

Where would you draw the line with everything that is going on ??

What next season its Lawrence and Fulton for example that are on the chopping block becuase Sheens coaches like an astrologist

Well as long as we have 25 players in our NRL squad and a coach , I will back them whole heartedly ( even if I think it might hurt sometimes )

Those who have emailed Humphreys - may I ask what email address you used? I'm likely just sending another 'misinformed' opinion but nevertheless would like to communicate my disappointment at the way players such as Gibbs, Ryan and Heighno have been treated.

The reminder to renew membership is really bad timing. I would support the club but I need to know what is happening for next year. Looks like I will hold on to renewing until we (We = my old man & brothers) get a sense of direction where we are heading next year.

I'm not renewing, but it's actually for two reasons.

2012 performance

and most of all, value for money.

I live in Victoria. My interstate membership this year was $120\. My father-in-law is a Storm fan down here. He got a GA Storm membership with 6 home games and the merchandise for the same price.

All I got was 1 ticket to a home game (not the away game down here) and the equivalent sized merchandise. Turns out I failed to make it to Sydney for a home game so that was wasted.

I love watching Rugby League, so as a protest against the stupid deal us people outside Sydney constantly get shafted with, I'm considering spending the same money on a GA Storm membership instead. Get to attend 6 games and I can give the merchandise to a sick kid down the road who is a Storm fan.

I'm still going to watch and hope the Tigers reach the finals, like I do every year, but I'm not an utter idiot. I can't be heard, I get no value from the membership, I can't attend the fan day stuff, they won't let me exchange the one ticket for when the Tigers play down here. Clearly I am not wanted by the club as a member because I don't live in Sydney.

So they can shove it.

But if a game isn't a sell out ,why can't fans use their interstate membership at other games

Can you imagine the increase in memberships for all clubs if they were prepared to change this across the board and bigger crowds at games which will help promote the game

The NRL and the clubs lack initative and need to stop worrying about their own little patch , if they make the right calls about the game as a whole everything should take care of itself

Thought about it for the last few weeks.

In the end decided I have been through worse times whilst maintaining my membership and as such will continue to do so now.

If the news on Beau and Heighno pans out to be accurate it is dissapointing in terms on their contribution to club spirit etc but not from a roster point of view as I believe both their positions can be filled by superior candidates for lesser money.

Ideally I want to see Moltzen gone from the club as well with the coach closely following him but for the time being my personal belief is that my membership is not reliant on a belief and agreeance with management policy.

I respect the opinion of anyone who feels differently and it does not make me a better or worse supporter than anyone who feels differently

My wife had a Sharks interstate membership. She got one GA ticket at a home game and one GA ticket to an away game. cost her about the same from memory.

She contacted the club about getting her home ticket for the Storm game. Damian Irvine met us at the ground on game day and personally handed it to her and sat with us for 15 minutes chatting about the Sharks to her.

I sat there the whole time absolutely fuming. Why couldn't I get even 10% of that from my club? He come across as a very professional business operator too, but always had time for the fans.

He's not alone either. Toidd Greenberg is a very similar operator and always has time for his clubs fans and regularly meets with them and sits with them etc.

i've never told this on here… so here goes..

i organised a meeting with steve noyce when he was at the tigers... arranged with my boss to take a few hours out of the day at work.. suited up... documented a fair bit of information and prepared a blue print strategic plan for a variety of issues. was going to present this to noyce so we could discuss it in a professional manner... it would have increased profits and attracted people to the club. it would have required very little effort or cost from the club to implement, just a bit of organisation and promotion through the existing communication channels available.

prior to this, there had been no contact between me and the club (except between me and his PA to organise the meeting). so its not as if he had any idea who i was or i had caused a stir, complaining etc about any particular issues. i was a fresh face, just a fan wanting to have a chat and discuss some areas i had ideas for. ideas i had created strategic plans for. ideas i had documented. ideas to help the club. i wasnt asking for anything in return, i just wanted the opportunity to sit down and discuss.

to make sure i was on time i rocked up a little bit early, waited in my car for about 20 minutes. there was this dude i saw in a suit coming out of concord HQ. he was with another fella and they started running towards a van, giggling and laughing. i realised as they got in the van it was noyce. they proceeded to drive off.

i was a bit confused, so i entered the club and proceeded to the reception. im not sure who i spoke to (its irrelevant) but i was advised that he was caught up 'in another meeting'... i wasn't asked to reschedule, it was just a 'yeah, sorry'. mmmm yeah...

i havent had a membership - dont intend to get one anytime soon either. im not contributing money to any organisation who couldn't give two stuffs about its investors. im not going to be a number on a stat sheet so the club can show off how many members they have recruited. i'll go to games when it suits me, doesnt mean im less of a fan, i still buy tickets, i still buy jerseys, but i wont subscribe to their crap.

I gotta say, early in 2005 I was 14, OBSESSED with the Tigers and sent Noyce an email outlining how Leicchardt and Campbelltown got more patrons and we generally performed better at those venues than at the SFS.

Two days later, I got an email from Steve outlining why the club had gone in those directions etc. For a fourteen year old kid, I was over the moon that I even got a response, let alone a point-by-point run down of why things were the way they were. I was stoked.

Regardless, I don't think disagreeing with the management is reason enough to not be a ticketed member. I'm not paying $400 a year because I want to financially support the club and support it's decisions, I'm paying for a hobby. I love watching the Tigers play, especially live, and I pay for the privilege to sit in amazing seats.

An average fan presenting my case. I had heard how approachable he was and wanted the opportunity to sit down in front of him and ask some questions. I admire your passion also, but I wasn't a 14 year old kid. I had genuinely put hours upon hours researching, analysing and developing strategies to discuss. In hindsight, maybe I should have persisted, but I'm stubborn and didn't want to deal with someone like that. There was no reason to string me along. If he didn't want to do the meeting, a simple email or phone call would have been sufficient - not running out of the car park smirking after I'd taken the day off work.

As for my reason not to pay for a membership, I'm not going to fund the salaries of folk such as this who ignore folk like me. I know how footy clubs work, they are all political. As I said, I still support the club through the purchase of gear and tickets.

I hate to kind of stir the pot here, but that's a little weird.

A CEO of a club/business as big as the Wests Tigers has people he pays for researching, strategies and analysis. To accept meetings from random members of the public, however passionate they may be, isn't good, or even average, business. It's weird that you thought he'd hear you out to tell you the truth.

I think the membership argument is a good strategy though. It will only work if there's a sharp decline in membership. I wonder if the average perception of the forum reflects the average perception of ticketed members.

The professionals in the membership department must be planning to put them up at 10am Monday morning.
