Retention & Recruitment has been outstanding!

Is this the same Pat Richards that played for WT in 2005 ??.Looking at the NYC game WT V Broncos on sunday last I would have been looking at keeping more U20 players and re building from there, there are some good one there.Anyway onward and upward WT: hopefully 2014 will be a turn around year for us.

Its the same Pat Richards.

Never underestimate the value of experience, its a gamble to take on a guy at his age, but the payoff will be worth it IMO. Not to mention the near guarantee of a conversion after every try.

Yep agree with this. Richards is just about ageless and I'm predicting he will be awesome for us next season, especially in the kicking department. He is still big, strong and fast also - can't wait to see him go around for us again.

As much as it will pain many to hear, the players like Halatau, Richards and Blair will pay us dividends off the paddock as much as on, they are all noted often as class humans and utter professionals. We dont need the young crop to grow into one trick primadonnas, but complete footballers with that extra sparkle.

Kidwell, that bloke will be an asset. The type of character he seems to be he would have had to have taken to Bellamy like a sponge, and as much as he is there to bring something to the coaching ranks, he may also be the man to turn our program around, the updated regimes from the storm, and update to be at the forefront. I think Payten has been promoted to learn from Kidwell more than Potter…

The team which includes players, coaches and assistants take on a much more hardened look into 2014\. Hard work, patience and perserverance with the early gelling process combined with a little luck with injuries will take us a long way in 2014.

Coach: Mick Potter
Assistant: David Kidwell
Assistant: Jason Taylor/Brian Smith

For me.

Brian Smith is a cancer to any club

Couldn't agree more , we dumped one egomaniac coach , we need another one like a hole in the head ( In saying that I will admit that the one we dropped did at least bring a premiership to the club ) something that Smith has never achieved , and never will.He just leaves clubs with a long list of problems

I am very interested to see what kidwell will bring to the table,

I am hoping a new attitude and defensive structure.

And a no bull approach. Unlike roycey who was continually making excuses.

Potter and Kidwell won't take BS from the playing group, and as a result I hope to see a mentally tougher side as the outcome. No nurturing egos, you train hard and play hard.

I've watched Kidwell since he played for The Adelaide Rams and shouted him a beer at the pub we used to gather at after the game. Even way back then he was a leader with all his team mates surrounding him whilst they joked and laughed. He was the centre of attraction. He played the game hard and fair and is a mans man who will not take any crap from anyone. My guess is that he will lead from the front at training to weed out those not putting in. He is just the tonic we need to assist our coach.

Excited about David Kidwell joining our ranks. Was a very good player and a leader.

Payten was also a good player but did play with a few of the current squad.

I hope we hire someone to assist with the young halves coming through. Jason Taylor would be good if he does not get the Parramatta gig.

Defence should be our number one task in the pre season.

2014 will be an improved season and 2015 is where I expect us to challange for higher honours.

Love the idea of developing youth plus have money available in 2014 to fill our short falls.

In two minds about our recruits, one one hand optimistic they will all add something to our 2014 campaign,Richards kicking and experience at the back,Halatau harden pro without being brilliant ,Austen, untapped talent,Patterson, big and strong and Tapau young and aggressive. On the other hand they are all either bench players or coming from a far weaker comp and we have been down that track so often in the past without much joy.

Will be interesting,my hunch they will fit in well but hard to say itwith much confidence

I am really looking forward to season 2014… Potter will have to deliver and he knows it otherwise.... I never realised how much of a cancer Humphreys was to our club until after he left and the worts came out.....getting rid of him was one of the best decisions the club has made....Royce and Georgallis should have been shown the door earlier as well....in my opinion our best signing so far has been Mayer,,,,, :sign:

I totally agree SC

Fringe first graders are fringe graders no matter what club they play at

Whether Potter ,Kidwell and Payten can get every ounce of their skills ,efforts and experience will be the key and how they mould into a unit will show tigers fans where we are at in 2014

Huge job for Potter ,Kidwell and Payten ,brand new 6 and 7 pairing and trying to find the right mix for our forward pack

I don't know about that HT - some very handy "fringe first graders" that have been running around for Melbourne over the past few years!

I suppose its all about the long term plan, build up your roster with a mix of journey men and outstanding juniors and than with a bit of luck add some real top shelve stuff for 2015 when it becomes available.

Lets face it the Chooks were a mid table at best team till SBW,Maloney and a couple of others were signed and the Rabbits were not much without GI.

Thats why I really dont expect a real challenge on the 8 next year, we will improve in all areas but will lack the class that is required to beat the better sides

We already have a bit of luck…Farah, Galloway and Lawrence (if he recovers) to go with our juniors and some journeymen
