Retirement of Cayless and Tuiaki

Does this open up some caproom for us to get a player or two mid season AKA the Wade McKinnon situation last year

Both were on minimum wage, or close to it so I doubt it. The Tigers have already stated they are happy with their roster so unless a player ends up looking for a club mid-season and will have their contract paid for by their original club then we won't be seeing anyone else at the Tigers.

even so, the freeing up of around even $50-$100k should help the club mitigate cap pressure in the future by bringing forward payments for other players.
At least that's my understanding of how the cap can be spent…

I'm fearing that this may bring about a backflip on Tahu, however, a mate of mine is in the know with the Pamfers and apparently he was sniffing around CUA stadium.

NO WAY @ TAHU
HIDEOUS Idea, I read he's been checking out Penrith's facilities so hopefully he goes there. Sucks for them having that waste of space & $$$ on the team, could be giving a young gun a chance.
Like we have AYSHFORD & LAWRENCE who are way better and still young, where as this dude is a few hits away from a broken hip.
I heard Newcastle might scoop him up, even after he called 'em rednecks - but WHY? they have Sau & Mad-Dog & young gun SUIATONGA LIKILIKI.
I can't think of a club that needs him, send him to SOUTHS, he'll fit right in there.

x 2 demps .. tahu would be a perfect fit at sowfscum and they're bound to have plenty of room in their salary cap as well !!

Tahu got flicked from the haven for broken players already, if they wont have him who will!! Panthers, Newcastle and North QLD also have form in signing "troubled fooballers"

you need a minimum number in your top squad, if they are on minimum they will be replaced by others on minimum, i m pretty sure, so wont free up any or much cash

Totally correct kul!

We cannot claim it on top of our cap in 2012 - but we can renegotiate terms on extant contracts & bring forward a portion of a player's payments to 2011 in order to reduce their pending payments & open cap space in coming years!

Use the cash and space to bump some of our juniors up. We always have a pile coming through the ranks, so give them opportunities and experience.
