**Josh Reynolds has given Wests Tigers fans every reason to be confident ahead of season 2019 with the five-eighth determined to produce his best and repay the faith shown the club.**

After a frustrating 2018 campaign that saw the marquee five-eighth chalk up just five games for Wests Tigers, Reynolds said he was firing fit and ready to deliver in 2019 as the side continues to ramp up pre-season training under Michael Maguire.

"Definitely fit and healthy for the trials which is good," Reynolds said after speaking to a group of school students about the club's[ *Celebrating Differences program* .](https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2019/02/12/out-in-the-community-in-the-inner-west/)

"We're heading over to New Zealand and it should be fun.

"We're only playing the one trial so I think all the boys are really keen to get over there, have a really good hit out and get ready for the season ahead."

Off-season shoulder surgery had Reynolds on a delayed training schedule to start the pre-season under the new coach, but a return to full contact for the 29-year-old has once again lifted the spirits after a tough time in the rehabilitation group.

"The shoulders are really good... I can go in to training now not worrying and do all those silly things that I used to do," Reynolds joked with reporters.

"It's confidence for me — this is my ninth year of first-grade and I've had six good years without injury so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing.

I'm just excited to get back out there and hopefully find some form.

"I've had some horrendous injuries over the past year-and-a-half and I'm definitely over doing rehab! Being back on the field with the boys has been a big thing for me.

"I've tried not to kick stones about the way it's all gone so far," he added.

"As a person, I just have to move forward and play some good footy. I've had enough time talking about injuries, I just want to get out there and play now.

"The Wests Tigers have given me a massive opportunity and I want to play good footy for them, my teammates, my family and myself."

Wests Tigers will wrap up pre-season preparations when they take on the New Zealand Warriors in Whangarei in their sole trial match on March 2 before opening the season against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Leichhardt Oval on March 16.

### Match: Wests Tigers v Sea Eagles

Funny what Grub considers horrendous injuries and what other players have gone through. I do appreciate that Grub is a particularly urgent and dramatic type of player, wears his heart on his sleeve, so we hear about what a big deal it is to him to miss games.

But talk to Chris Lawrence about major injury. Or, of course, TNT or Dwyer.

Injuries affect you mentally as well as physically.
A small injury can be long term and niggling. Mentally it's frustrating.

It's not a competition to see who has had a more devastating injury.
A broken toe can even be devastating, I've seen people carry one for years and unable to do anything because it just keeps breaking.
They finally get their confidence back and crack, it's gone again.

I like that he has come out and said he wants the position. Shows the start of the Cleary to Maguire change in player mentality.
