RIP Eddie Van Halan

One of my favourite stories about him is what he did for Dimebag when he died. Dimebag Darrell just before he died was trying to get himself a replica of the bumblebee, that was on the back cover of Van Halan II. When he died his family were still looking for one to bury him with. Eddie stepped in and gave him the original, and thus that’s what he was buried with.

I am probably going to get slammed for this, but I never really liked the band.

However I did have a lot of respect for Eddie as both a very talented guitarist and musician in general (from what I recall he played by ear and could not read music,) and for what he did for Dimebag (who is in my top 3 favourite guitarists.) Even before he died most people that knew him talked of him very fondly.

Does anyone have a favourite solo .....Eruption I guess for me

Just heard Michael Jackson's Beat It on the radio and EVH played the solo on that. That one is pretty cool.

Long circular story, bore most people, involved Valerie and hanging out at the Ritz Carlton.

Another sad loss....another kick in the hoo haa's that 2020 has delivered......
