RLW Predicted Finishes for this season

In this weeks RLW Tony Adams has rated the teams on what they have doneso far & what they need to make the finals or make amends. This what he says about the Tigers:

Predicted finish: 9th(28 points)
**What they have done right**: Have won the close games but have played many teams below them on the ladder. There is no doubting their skill, but the Tigers face a tough run home and that could bring them undone.
**What they've done wrong:**have barely shown the form that made them pre-season favourites. Too many mistakes have cost them dearly to date.
**Best player:** Robbie Farah has overcome a number of injuries to reclaim his crown as the best hooker in NSW, His dummy-half smarts keep the Tigers in most games.
**Best new face:** Curtis Sironen. The son of Balmain legend Paul Sironen has only just arrived into the NRL, but the 18 year-old is one to watch - he's somethi g special.
**Who needs to lift:** Chris Lawrence is all class but bagged just one try in the first 10 rounds. Still finding his feet after missing most of last season with injury.

So he thinks the Tigers will finish 9th. Lets prove him wrong.

He makes a good point. We've had an easy run so far.

The comp is also so close - our position can change very quickly.

What were his other predictions for the way teams will finish?
How can guys like this make these predictions without knowing what injuries / suspensions will do to a team line up?
Teams like Cronulla have batted above their weight, Parramatta & Knights well below expectations.
This article is guesswork at best but I suppose it sells / fills magazines if nothing else.
With that in mind I'll have a dig myself & see if I get closer than RLW.

9th? No way. It's almost like he wrote this article three weeks ago.

Strongly backed up by this line from the article -

_"Who needs to lift: Chris Lawrence is all class but bagged just one try in **the first 10 rounds**"_

It's round 14 on Friday.

The other thing is - we are also yet to play a lot of strugglers - Penrith once more, the Eels once more, the knights, and we play the roosters twice - games we should win.

so with the Bye , and those five wins alone, that would put us on 28 points which generally gets you to the bottom of the 8 in recent years.

Honestly speaking I'd expect our boys to pick those games up, and conservatively pick up another 3 games out of the other 7 games left - getting us to 34 points, which would be around 4th to 5th place.

Maybe on paper but it is a tad deceiving. Everyone bagged out struggles beating the Titans but they've won pretty much every week since then. Penrith have knocked over Manly, NQ were top 4 when we played them, NZW have been pretty good all year. I know there are some big names we haven't played but it's a tough competition and we are well placed with players to return still.

Week to week and the results will see us end up where we do.

No matter what I believe we have looked a more composed, well drilled and patient football side in the last few weeks then we have in the clubs history and that is all I asked for at the start of the season so I am happy

We've played many teams below us on the ladder? We're coming fourth, pretty sure we can't play the same three teams every week.

Cronulla 2nd,Cowboys 4th,I thought it was Rothfield under an alias.Cleary he has no idea, but we should put this on the dressing room wall so the players see it all the time.

well i think you have hit the nail on the head smeg in the early rounds we played terrible but now we are playing a different style of football .composed patient and well drilled as you say smeg and i think we will get much better at this style as the finals get closer heres hoping iam right go tigers

The article reeks of lack of thought. How can he say Farah has been our best player? Okay, so he has had some good games but you're a harsh judge if you don't believe Aaron Woods has been our best player this season. Agree with him on Lawrence who's been below his best but they do say that from the moment you return from a serious injury it can take up to twelve months to recover fully. In which case the back end of this season. I doubt we'll finish 9th. Like i said, the journalism though only one person's opinion reeks of a lack of thought.

Meh
Cant please everyone all the time
Its an opinion…people take these too seriously, no different to a bloke in a pub, on the hill or on this forum.

have a great draw and really bar Melbourne at full strength and Manly at full strength and in form no team really worries me.

Due to a bad start to the season we have gone the whip early but we will win more than fifty percent from here on in and that will land us between 6th and 3rd,

This comp is so open anything could happen when we get to September

Lol …. Spot on STT !

Im glad someone got it..thanks knuckles.

Funny peeps are mincing that we only beat teams behind us when practically the whole comp is behind us.

Did you also read the story on bodene Thompson, sheens thinks he can turn him
Into a test forward in years to come and can run good lines, so he might be a handy pick up if they work hard with him in the off season
