Roar or Roosters ??

If the Roar either win or draw their next game they will break a 74 year record held by the Roosters of the longest undefeated run ….

Here is the question ??

Would you prefer a Qld soccer team break the record or the dirty Roosters continue their 74 year sports record ??

I'm a Qlder so it goes without question

It's hard for me to get excited about it especially when it comes to soccer where half the games are draws. If it was a 35 match win streak for the roar then I'd be impressed but close to Hal those games would be draws so to me it's really a moot point

haha nice one.

I loathe soccer so I'm on the roosters.

It's football Stryker and I loathe the Roosters, so I'd rather the Roar take it out.

Watched Sydney FC bury themselves tonight, good God, what is Vitezlav doing letting Bridge start every game?!

of the 34 games, only 13 have been draws (including the grand final which they won on penalties). It's a remarkable run, especially since in soccer one bad ref call or defensive lapse can cost you a game. Add to it the fact that between this season and last season they lost their best stiker (Barbarousis) and their best player (McKay). Postecoglou may not have been coaching them for long but he is fast becoming one of the great coaches in Australian sporting history, they were a basket case when he took over and haven't lost a game under his leadership.

Even though the run is great and they do play an entertaining brand of football, I do not see how it can be compared to the roosters of the 30's.

Its not 35 wins on the trot so cannot be compared at all. A great run and should be praised but not compared to the run set by the roosters many years ago

Its not even comparable….draws happen in sokka every freeking day....theyre not that common in RL even back in the Roosters heyday...long before golden point

Smoking gun I see feels the same, good post

Bugger the Roosters, the Roar it is for me.
I hate it when my mates who follow soccer get up me for calling soccer soccer instead of football. The argument is pointless considering our national team is called the **Soccer**oos…

Heres the thing…soccer is a puncey game played by fairies who consider a completely unsatisfying 0-0 draw an achievement.

The Roosters side of yesteryear who set that remarkable record were MEN who played in a MEN'S sport and achieved a MANLY result.

Call me when the Roar win 60 in a row and then we can talk. Until then we are comparing tungsten steel and fairy floss.

Didn't John Travolta play this guy in Welcome Back Kotter?

Well Said Marshall Magic… is without a doubt one of the best coaches in Australian sporting history... across ANY code.

Can we all please say Football too... I hate the term Soccer... we are not Americans

The Roar also operate under a salary cap system, with a long season and international schedules to compete with. The Roosters in the 1930s had shortened seasons (eliminating the effect of player burn out), and no major international tournaments to contend with. In the middle of January the Roar lost their star player to the Australian team playing in the Asian cup, and still didn't lose a game.

Ah for those interested (probably not many) The Roar broke the record with a 4-0 shellacking of Perth tonight Congrats to the Roar

Well done to them. Can't see them losing one soon. I guess the real test of their greatness will be the Asian Champions League. If they win that they'll probably have claim to being one of the greatest Australian club teams in any sport.

I have to say that they'll probably go close to taking out the ACL MM. I would have liked to have seem compete with McKay and Barbs, I reckon they would be near on sureties to going all the way.
