Rob Burrow

Feels like a disproportionately high number of players are being diagnosed with MND. A quick Google turned up recent research by the University of Glasgow finding that professional rugby players "are over 2.67 times more likely to develop dementia, over 3 times to develop Parkinson’s, and over 15 times more likely to develop MND".

Moror Neurone Disease is a tragic affliction & has definitely ravaged a dsproportionate number of relatively young and very talented ex-rugby league players.

I have mixed feelings about Ricky Stuart (who is subject to his own demonstrable mental demons) - but I will always respect the manner in which he actively supported Scotty Gale and his family through his deterioration with NMD & beyond his untimely death.

A perfect example of love - mutual respect and loyalty to a mate - & a vivid demonstration of the best examples of the brotherhood bond that develops between close team mates!

(AND they only played two seasons together in their long careers).

Vale Scotty Gale

Wow what a disturbing statistic!
