Robbie Farah signs new four-year deal with Wests Tigers

Top news! I never really thought he would leave but there is always that doubt, especially given the past 12 months that perhaps he might have been tempted to grab a fresh start somewhere. Thankfully that was not the case. Kudos to Humphreys for working hard over the past week or so on getting it done ASAP.

Great stuff by Humphrey's and the club, and very well earned by our couragous skipper,a one club man, life after footy will be made easier now,as you will be the face of the club now and for many years to come.

What About ''Farrah Parra'' ??

and also i thought Farah was itching play for his good mate Ricky Stuart , who said Farah Was 3rd choice for NSW , would have overlooked him for Origin last year if Ennis or Buderus werent injured .

maybe blocka got involved and helped seal the deal for Wts

Captain Robbie Farah re-signs

Wests Tigers have received a massive boost on the eve of their first home game at Leichhardt Oval tomorrow night with news today proud Captain Robbie Farah has agreed to a new four-year deal.

One of the most respected players in the NRL, Farah was off contract at the end of this season but his new deal will see the local junior remain at Wests Tigers until the end of 2017.

Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said the Club is delighted to have reached a new agreement with Farah, making him a ‘Tiger for Life’.

“Robbie has cemented his position as one of the game’s most elite and inspirational players,’’ Humphreys said.

“His new contract reflects this fact and is a great reward for not only his superb skills but also his professionalism and dedication.”

Farah said the Club means everything to him.

“I couldn’t be happier to have my future at Wests Tigers secured through this new deal,’’ Farah said.

“I have total confidence in the future of the Club. We have entered an exciting new phase and I can only see plenty of positives and success ahead for us.

“With my future settled, I can’t wait to the lead the team out tomorrow night at Leichhardt Oval in front of the best and most passionate Members in the game.”

Coach Mick Potter said the re-signing was great news for Farah and the Club.

“Robbie is a winner and provides great leadership on and off the field, not only to the playing group but to the Club generally,’’ Potter said.

“I’m really looking forward to working with him to deliver the kind of success we are all striving for.”

This signing also says that the new coach has had the right impact on the senior player group which bides well for the future direction that has been mapped out. Good day for the WESTSTIGERS!

Excellent news.

Farah is already a Wests Tigers legend and now a one club player.

Great endorsement for Potter and the direction of the club.

Farah - 4 more years

Fulton - 3 more years (hopefully he bulks up one day)

Looking forward to farah carving up the Eels tomorrow night

Great news, I was starting to get very pessimistic at the thoughts of our prospects in the years to come if Farah had decided to pull the plug

From the official press release, I loved how Farah said he has so much CONFIDENCE in the future, so to me that shows he has plenty of faith in Mick Potter, plenty of Faith in the clubs playing rosters, plenty faith in the clubs ability to recruit and most importantly plenty of Faith in the WestsTigers as a joint venture!!

Best news i've heard all yr, bloody fantastic. Has to be an outside chance at reaching 300 games now should he stay healthy

Parramatta are like an 80 yr old millionaire trying to attract a 21 yr old starlet wife but is only finding middle aged bogan single mums named Sharon

The interview was teary….....said how much he loved the tigers.Been here for so long, loves being the captian, wants to mentor the young kids coming through.

Great work all round, dare i say it from the much maligned Humphreys whom Robbi thanked several times for his tireless work on his signing.

I agree supercoach - that was my take on the announcement as well.

I think many of us feared that Robbie had become disillusioned with the team and its prospects and that he may seek a fresh start. This announcement demonstrates that not only is Robbie a loyal Tiger, but that he has confidence in the future of our team.

A fact that fills me with confidence about our future too.

Iosefa asked for a release to take up a contract at the Warriors as they are lacking a 9 at the moment,WestsTigers refused, they said that he is the only cover for Farah.
Don't we have any other 9's?

Not really. There are a couple of younger blokes running around but they aren't ready.

I'd give Joel Luani a run as backup hooker if Iosefa wants out. Luani is a better defender but not as sharp in attack.
