Robert Lui Question

Yeh hell still be eligable, although personally i cannot see him getting many games in first grade. If Lote signs id say hell be stuck behind both Moltzen and Arana.

Agreed - he'll be doing well to get more than a half dozen games…

Predictions for the year? Normally there is a thread near the start of the year.

He may get some games from the bench and possibly even as lock if his defence improves.

if we lote doesnt resign with us after his contract runs out it could mean that mullaney gets the Full Time fullback spot.
also if taumata decides to return to qld after his contract runs out it could give lui the halfback spot.

if this is the plan i dont see it as the 2 youngsters would have greatly developed their skills.

as for lui playing lock i only see this happenin if he scored the number 14 coming on 2nd half replacing fulton at lock. hopefuly the following season he will get the spot fulltime allowing mullaney to get the number 14?

the suggestions may not make too much sense but hopefuly u get what im saying. thoughts?

I'd just like to see Lui fit in somewhere as I think he has massive potential. Taumata I'm not totally sold on yet - I'd need to see him play some more. Mullaney possibly needs a bit of time at State Cup but could get a run in 2010\. In any event we have a lot of depth and competition for spots.

Not that he'd be a chance, no offence
if I may say he would be best off doveloping some defencive skillls and moulding himself into a back rower.
He has a brilliant kicking game no doubt but I wouldn't think he is rookie of the year material,
although you never know he could get lucky

it seems that all players struggle defensively but strive offensively when coming out of nyc. i think that lui will shine in 2010

Yeh I disagree,
I think that Lui would definately have the potenital to be rookie of the year given the opportunity. Lui has carved teams up this year in Toyota cup this year. I know he probably didnt play to his full potential in his matches in first grade but i think he has plenty more to offer. However as I said I dont think hell be starting to many matches.

well mate sorry, but how many players look like stars in those junior grades but never really cut in the first grade

i don't think he is a bad player, i just don't think he has the potential to be rookie of the year.

I think he is the sort of player who will only get better with experience,

which isn't a bad think i mean look at Krisnan Inu.
He was an absolute tank in his first year but look at him now, he's rubish.
With Lui he isn't a bad player now, i just think he will improve gradually

Maybe. Idris won this year and I thought he played in 2008.

He did but there is some stupid rule in place where if you playe a certain number of games (not sure how many) then you can be eligible the next year.

Inu has a shocker on the odd occasion but in 2009 he was great for the most part. I agree that his first season was BOOM and the subsequent ones were poor, up UNTIL 2009.

Yeah, i guess, but still didn't compare to 07

Lui looks to be an enigma.

He has great talent, an absolutely sensational kicking game, but he lives in slow motion. He has Paul Davis written all over him.

Yep looks very similiar. Maybe he can turn into a lock forward. In the halves I'd rather have a speed player like Moltzen.

Time will tell how he turns out but atm I can't see him making a big impact at the NRL level.
