TEAM LIST Round 10 vs. Dragons

Team List
What everyboby forgets is that the Dragons are a very good football team with internal conflications...Ben Hunt is an awesome 7 as well as a very good 9 when needed...Lomax got dropped because Griffin swapped him from the left to the right and Souli from right to left...Coaching drama continue at the Drags all is not what it seems...BUT i ONLY care that we win ...We have lead up to the Penrith win with a great amount of work which is paramount for success..Our team is now cementing a platform for future success,if you havent noticed in the past 6 or so games then you have no idea about football...

dragons have lost four in a row but have been in the contest each week. they’ll either capitulate or come to the party.

despite it being wet and the game plan being considerably conservative, we set the blueprint last week. high percentage plays, kick well, build pressure. our forward pack is elite. play off the back of it and earn the right to play expansive.

Sloan and Hunt have to be on the tipsheet, especially if Hunt moves to 9 and they link up through the middle corridor. Suli will tear us apart if we’re not careful and their starting pack punches above its weight. wear them down early and we should come over the top of them late on.

So my recipe for success this week.

I feel that the middle is where the Dragons are weakest and also where we are strongest.

We should try to kick the door down with our forwards early and focus on Hunt and Sullivan as the points of attack to wear them out individually and look to break the confidence of the team itself. We need Bula, Brooks and Wakeham lurking to make the most of any second phase play that is created - especially off Api.

If we control the ball and kick to the corners at the end of sets we have shown that we can defend. We need to use that as a weapon as we did against Penrith.

Expansive footy only when we have the ascendency; not prior.

I agree with those saying we need to go through the middle. I'm hoping that the Api/Brooks combo will continue to build and if Bula pushes up with them I have no doubt he will be rewarded for effort. I also think the wrap around plays from dummy half have been great for us in the attacking 3rd, so simply and so effective. If Twal is gonna score this year it's going to be off one of those, dummying the pass back and going himself.

I really hope that the win last week has instilled some confidence in our team.

If we start well and can dominate early this will be the trigger for Hook to switch Hunt from half to hooker. That is the classic mistake of strengthening one position to the detriment of the other. Hunt at 9 will still be a problem, but not as dangerous as at 7.

Having Sullivan on the bench means their ability to rotate the forwards is limited and if there is an injury in the backline will mean a reshuffle.

This is the game for us to use our forward to kick the door down from the start and crucify them up the middle.

My concern is that on a dry track we go back to trying to out-fancy them. Not the way to play this game at all.

What Tigers team will turn up? I trust it is the hungy one with confidence in the plan that allowed them to "out-Penrith" the Panthers.

I reckon dragons will end up going Hunt to dummy half

Sullivan & Amone in the halves…these two grew up playing halves together and would provide them some spark imo. But for as long as they have mbye in the team, he will block one of their paths

The dragons will be fired up after losing their past 4 games by less than 6 points & like us they will be looking to get back in the winners circle plus don't forget they also beat the dolphins a few weeks back
We need to shut hunt & rawalawa down
Hunt usually has 1 good game then 1 bad game
He was average against the dogs but the week before he played good against the roosters on Anzac day
Like penrith we'll have to be switched on for the full 80 to have any chance
I still think we'll win 13+
There is no easy game in the nrl every game is a danger game
Good, accurate post. This is going to be a hard game, especially with the Hook scenario and the dropping of players etc.
I hope we continue to grow and not think that because of the first win it’s just all going to fall into place.
One thing I did notice about our match last week was that we seemed to get the “ bounce of the ball” and favourable refereeing decisions. Won’t say we didn’t deserve that but you definitely can’t rely on that each week.

I wish Andrew Johns had not written we are “morals” to beat St George on Sunday.
Just leave us alone Joey and write about the Knights.

Mbye is the biggest con artist in my time watching NRL. I don't know how he fooled so many clubs to give him big contracts and important roles. I swear that sometimes he would pretend to make a tackle so he wouldn't get hurt. So glad he no longer plays for us.

Mbye is the oppositions best player every game … he’s just there…never busts the line open, most of his tackles are ineffective and he’ll always choose the soft option if it’s on the cards.

Felt sorry for liddle who got dropped, one ex tiger I wish well

The backline is young but have combos through the grades. I like the Dragons side and think in a few years it will fire for them.

Sure Dragons have lost 4 but they have been in all of them, be interesting how the 3 games in 11 days hits the forwards though but Sua is back also for us which is a good bonus for them

We need to watch Hunt’s short passes at the line to running forwards its his pet play this season & they have scored alot of points via it.

If we don’t rush up but man mark and move together in defence we can hold them, key for us will be scoring points. Hopefully Bula & Brooks follows Api when the game opens up, we work over the forwards early (they do break open up the middle) and can exploit it.

Pretty confident our forwards can do a job. On form I think our pack is top 8 easily

It’s the inconsistency of our halves, a new fullback and our centres being of reserve grade quality that worry me. But then again that’s the dragons problem too

Got to admit I haven’t watched many dragons games this year tho
