Hunt is is beyond horrible when he’s gassed . He’s really poor defensively . He just has no resilience / second wind , when the “geez I’m tired” starts creeping into your brain .
I think the best way to utilise him is off the bench , at the end of the first half for 10 minutes , then another 10 to start the second half .
Anything longer , he just doesn’t have the motor .
And I have no idea why we didn’t him back on with 10 to go . He would have punched holes through the defence . Especially off those kick offs .
There must be data to say to contrary , but surely that’s the best time to utilise him . Especially when you’re looking to compound on momentum . If ever there was a player who do that it’s Royce Hunt .

This 👆 Looks like we are trying to remedy this in our depth squad with Peter Taateo but in terms of potential NRL benchie, not sure who this could be. Lazarus Valapu or Api & Turuva’s Fijian mate Kamikamica both from Storm perhaps.

Yep. In the area of effort and desire he was one of our best yesterday. Sometimes i think he suffers from trying too hard. Problem is he is often ineffective, doesn’t quite have the skills, speed or strength to make an impact and should be coming off the bench in an NRL team. The same could be said for most of our pack.

That's the thing. They can play football. For short stints. Story of our lives.

As this season unfolds mate It's looking like we are still lacking quality, for me we are still 5 players short to be more competitive, you could see the lack of impact when Pole went down in the forwards, we need a big middle and two 2nd rowers, outside backs 1 quality player and a depth player.

Lot of angst around Benji but for me reserving judgement until he gets the quality and depth the squad needs.
It's frustrating watching their football at the moment so many winnable games dropped we should be used to it but for us diehards it's like a death of a thousand cuts lol.

I think Benji errored in his selection should have started twall at prop and moved Bird to lock and Hunt to the bench when Twall got injured it opened up the middle and the exploted a gassed Hunt

I just saw the Mason obstruction one , and that’s definitely a penalty all day . If Paulo stays attacking the wing then it’s okay play on , but because he stepped back into the space behind Toa , that’s where Mason would have been .
