TEAM LIST Round 16 VS Dolphins

Team List
11 and 12 is very weak. Geyer on the bench - I hope he doesn't end up playing on an edge, he was a disaster against Penrith.

Dolphins entire backline is deadly. Katoa is in form now and was looking in absolute control last week. They have a lot of points in them. I think our only chance to win is to score a lot ourselves, but I don't feel like we can keep pace with them. Maybe with Doueihi we have a score in us, but without KPP to work off he'll be pushing the cart uphill.

Negativity is unbelievable. You should change your name with this poor attitude. Alex will score a treble and we will win by 30. Don’t be surprised if he drops a 2 point field goal late in the game

I love everyone's opinions on how this game will go,however,me being the absolute mad WTs fanatic I think that with API in the lineup these guys may just lift to another level.
The team will be brimming with confidence after the Titans win and could very well cause the upset we badly need, they stepped up a LO who knows what they may produce at Campo..
I know I'm asking for a lot of flak if we lose, but heck there have been bigger upsets in the past...👍

I thought Pole was excellent coming off the bench (despite his regular howler of dropping the ball). Had a real “Royce Hunt” impact with his carries. I wouldn’t be starting him.
We are short of edges and Tony Sukkar really interests me. He looks good defensively but a bit lost in attack. Runs decoys but I would like to see him with early ball and bring him to the game - I think Thera is more there.
Lanyon was great on debut last week. Looks like a first grader. Hopefully he is the guy we can rely on to give Api a break.
Seyfarth had a game for the ages last week. Hope Benji keeps him in the middle. While he was huge in defence last week, he actually has a good passing game on both sides which I think helped us.
To’a looked a lot more confident in contact than previous weeks. Great bump on Titans halfback to score his try and his dirty yards were miles better.
As others have said, Sione is a middle but desperate times call for desperate measures.

We just need to back it up from last week. If Douiehi plays, that’s a huge in for us and Jerome needs to run straight and hard. The good things will follow once he gets is head in the game.

With KKP long term injury are we any chance of getting someone like Blore prior to 30 June? Storm now have 3 players out for season so maybe not Blore.
Second Row stocks are thin.
The backline of the Dolpins is probably the best in the comp and have plenty of points in them. Herbie is one of my favourite players in the comp. He is an Elite Centre.

Our “Development” of Latu is beyond stupid now. He needs to be either playing longer minutes in Nrl or put him in Cup to play 80mins at halfback. His performances are starting to deteriorate. I don’t want to disrespect Jock but apart from his goal kicking he lacks plenty & is such a huge liability in defence. Latu has a decent kicking game, is a run threat & can tackle (despite being poor on Sunday). I love ya Benji but your frustrating me right now. I really don’t like talking negative of Jock I really like the bloke but Latu needs to be there when AD isn’t. Having said all of that it’s easy coaching from my couch. In Benji we trust I guess
I’ve thought about this a little too.
Jock was in better form at the start of the year and hasn’t had a shocker to validate being dropped. Latu’s pass, run and kicking skills he won’t lose as he is well adept in those areas. The plus of playing off the bench gets exposed to the speed of first grade, defence expectations and fitness without the pressure of controlling from half and being regularly named he will feel accepted as a peer 1st grader so when he gets his chance he’ll be better adept.
The negative imo is he’s not controlling a game from a halves point of view. But expecting a rookie half to control a first grade football match should not be an expectation put on him when he gets his shot
So while I had once shared your view I don’t anymore

I think it would take a lot for Melbourne to let any player to leave mid season. Think the 🥕 would have to be fairly good

I have changed my opinion re Latu too.

He's clearly talented but he plays a little slow. He would be great against a rushing defence as he will wait for the D to make a decision and then play faster than them. I feel like he's in a similar ilk to Walker or Katoa.

The issue with that is you need your team to play according to their speed and not the other way around.

I don't think he provides us with anything off the bench that other players can't. He's definitely best developed in NSW Cup.

This is where we have to have faith that Benji, one of the best halfs of all time, who also started quite young in first grade and also had multiple injuries should be the one best positioned to manage Latu and his career moving forward. I do catch glimpses of Katoa when i see Latu ball play and run so I'm still bullish on him being something special. If not for his injuries he would probably be Luai's regular halves partner by now and Galvin may never have even got a look in.
