LIVE GAME Round 19 v Warriors

Live Game Discussion
We lost to a better team. Handling was poor and edge D again failed. Forwards dominated. That’s what happens. Won’t get better without better players.

The coaching has gotta improve too .. they lose the ruck battle every week … their line speed is slow…they aren’t turning that around in a week though ..although maybe the poor old Titans might be going through the motions … I doubt it though ..

Seemed like we were flat most of the game - hard to see on the tele but the Warriors looked to be doing a lot of up and in that stifled the attack in the middle third. Like NSW we failed to react to it appropriately.

We look better with AD as a ball playing 13 - gets both Luai and Latu that little bit wider and I think that little bit of time makes a difference. We are significanly better in attack with AD at 13 than Twal and he offered more in attack than Bird (who was terrible today). At 13 AD gives us a bigger boot and potentially the use of the floating bomb as well.

I'm not blaming the officiating for the loss - but a couple of those poor calls led to points.

We have a lot of work to do this week if we are going to be competitive agaisnt the last placed Titans at home.
I agree - after watching KOE, I think I would play Taylan at centre and move Douiehi to 13 and probably drop Bird leaving a bench of Sione, Seyfarth, Hope and Twal.

No, I think Douehi to lock with May and Toa centres. I’d say Douehi to 6 but no one in the club would have the balls to drop our 6 million dollar man to the bench.
I think you are right - that looks to be best option for next week. Having said that I don't think AD at 6 would be more effective than Romey. If AD was at 6 today I don't think it would have made a difference. Our pack was dominated and the up and in defence stifled our ability to shift. This was the same approach QLD took against NSW, and like NSW we didn't counter it.

Eyes up players (Api, Luai and Latu) don't play well without go forward. When the defence is set and waiting it is hard to manufacture opportunities. AD, with some ball playing ability can get the halves a little wider on the later stages of our sets to give more time.

Warriors are very well coached, you can see they always do the little things really well. They have won so many close games this year for a reason.
We don’t do the little things well, we don’t get to marker, don’t switch on for short side, clock off and don’t cover enough in defence, line speed is low, contact is poor.
These are majority coaching things, having more grunt of tough / physical forwards would help.

Yes, Benji & co should flog them mercilessly and FFS get the team ready with game plans and mentally able to compete

Geezus if it was as easy as a coach pumping up a squad to win every week no teams would be better than the other.
They are in the position they are in because they deserve it on the back of a big physical pack - something we are don't have

Rubbish. Benji will blame the refs calls before he blames the players. Should start at Luai for moving in front of the player to stop him competing. Pathetically amateurish.

Next week I’d drop Skelton and Staines . Put Starford Toa and Isaac Tuitoupo Thompson on the wings and bring Taylan May into the centres to partner Douhei
