Bateman is willing, but at 93kg he just doesn’t have the physicality to compete. It’s the reason he runs sideways so much. It’s going to turn out to be a very bad contract unfortunately.

Yep, very small forward for a player theses days. Would have been a great player in the mid 2000s with the Ben Galea and Kapow types but not in current year, the dude is smaller than Laurie.

Mate, I admire the supportive tone of your post but this crap happens every game. We give the opposition tries and bomb our own game after game. Good sides don't do that more than once or twice a season.

He is an International, he can play but he needs a smart half to give him good ball and a stressed defensive line, instead of a hospital pass with 3 defenders coming at him, every time… this team desperately needs a classy half, just one even.. To organise and get the team playing as a team..

Huge turning point. Gone are the days are passing it to someone in a better position. No excuse for this one and it was so obvious. Pity because I think he is a player with great potential - hope he learns from it.

Doesn’t know when to pass and when to go himself. Last week he should have gone himself and took the low percentage play kick option twice. The coaches would have told him this week to back himself in those situations. Tonight he needed to pass but went himself. Unfortunately that football intelligence cannot be taught. I had high hopes for him but geez they are fading.

Has 65m of grass on the outside of Latrell, veers to the 80cm of grass to the touchline. That, and dying with the ball in the first half because he didn't know it was the last shows he severely lacks footy smarts, not sure if you're born with that or it can develop
