TEAM LIST Round 23 vs. Raiders

Team List
Stef and Blore are big loss.

But this is our easiest in many weeks.

Canberra look soft in defence.
Really, I would like to say I hope you’re right but imo almost certain you’ll be wrong. We have completely forgotten how to win, sure we can close the gap but just can’t get the job done.
Sorry to say Raiders by 20+ imo.
As a matter of fact I think the 1.90 Raiders to win by 12 or more( start currently 11.5) is a lock bet. And I’ve already had a decent dip at it !

Hate to say, but think you might be off with that one ^

Your call.

Just think we have been a little unlucky playing sides at close to full strength in decent form......unlike say Canterbury.

This Canberra side looks outta form......thinking we have a possibility of a win here and also against fins Easts Manly.

You may be right, after all it’s only one persons opinion vs another.
We will both know by 6pm Sunday ( or maybe even earlier).
Don’t be confused, I would love to see a Tigers victory but am basing my betting on my head, not my heart like I used to, and it’s a damn sight more profitable. 🤣

As I’ve mentioned before the years over for us to make the finals, and with Stef & Blore unavailable
I like the inclusion of Matamua hoping he gets a good run to impress for the future & James getting another run can only build up his confidence which is valuable, getting another look at Tupou in the centre’s can’t hurt.
I would have liked to see Da Silva get another run also for his development.

Agree with your comments but it’s a bit of a forked stick with TDS. Every time Sheens/Benji whoever gives him a rest everyone is up in arms coz if he stays on we may win.
I think it’s going to be a big tough for the young bloke coz I think he will only get minimal time off then bench do is it better to play him for 80 in KoE.
He’s being groomed for when API starts to really slow down, and that doesn’t look like it will be for a while. I hope he’s patient and they have factored that into his contract !

Didn't used to be like that, we used to have a great record against Raiders. Overall we are 19 W and 22 L against Raiders, which is actually one of our better H2H records.

And to put that into perspective, we've only beaten Raiders once since 2016 - 1 W and 10 losses in the last 11 attempts, including the current 6-game losing streak.

But prior to 2016 we went 10 W 2 L against Raiders between 2009 to 2014.
Yeah I remember those days.... I remember we used to own the sharks too.... I also remember the old Qantas ad with the song 'memories'...

I'm expecting ugly. Too many weeks building up of nothing to play for, the spoon almost a given and players committed elsewhere. Coaches are lucky they have a leave pass for this year.

Still have an 18 W 17 L positive win record against Sharks, despite the recent losses. Only beat Sharks once in the last 11 attempts, but we went 14 matches with only 1 loss between 2003 and 2012.

I think their keeping Da Silva in jersey flegg to play with a few he's likely to play with in fg in the future. Also they can make the semis if they win the last 4 games would be good experience if they did

Good news is this season is nearly over and we won’t need to read Tigers Tuesday Teams Train wreck for 6 months.

Bad news is it will be the same in 7 months. Players just slightly slower and older.

3peat coming up.

Our bench looks questionable at best.
No problem with James, happy to see him get more NRL game time and happy to see what Matamua brings to the table, but not sure what value we get out of Simpkin as a number 14 when hooker is really the only position he can play and Api has no trouble playing 80mins.
Then we reward Keparoa with a lacklustre effort in NSW Cup last weekend with an NRL call up ?
Unbelievable, and I am bloody angry about some of these brain dead selections and they just keep happening.

I can’t wait till the preseason when members on here attend training and report back how strong, fast and cohesive the squad looks.
That’s always the best content for a laugh…a light hearted way to begin the year.

It’ll be amazing.

“Benji was out there with the boys, showing them some stuff”

“Steff looks like he’s put on 20kg of muscle”

“(Insert new kids name) looks dangerous, expecting big things from him this year”

“nofa looked really focused and primed for a big year”

“Where’s brooks?”

Nobody who remembers Sheens last tenure would be surprised at all with these consistently stupid selections.
Here’s hoping he is forcing Benji in this respect and Marshall isn’t part of the thought process.
If he is we may as well all give up.
