Great/interesting posts Charred...you obviously went to a better school than me [Ashfield Boys High] when you know aboutOk would you like to provide any substance in relation to this claim you are making. What exactly in my post was not well-thought out or constructive? What points do you disagree with specifically and why? You talk a big talk and ask all these questions then when someone gives you the answers you just run away and hide behind ludicrous excuses and throwaway lines. I’ll wait until you can provide a proper response but I certainly won’t be holding my breath. 🙂
Mate, we lose a bunch of home games each and every year over money. So why not forgo one to honour and celebrate the indigenous contribution to our club and the game generally. Please read my post correctly. My issue is it means we lose a home ground advantage at Leichhardt. If you want to start having bloody festivals and celebrations about your race or sexuality or gender or whatever other thing then go ahead, but we shouldn't lose a home game over it.
Secondly, what conversation is being had? Yes darling indigenous round is about celebrating indigenous people. Why mummy? Errr...ahhh....just to celebrate them. Wtf seriously...this is so dumb
So I guess you're anti Magic Round too 🤔Please read my post correctly. My issue is it means we lose a home ground advantage at Leichhardt. You mean the same Hamas that Netanyahu was supplying bags of cash in the years before Oct 7? The same Hamas maintained by Israel to keep the Palestinian leadership divided?Typical bending over for a terrorist organisation. Great move PM. Knob
C’mon Sunshine, even an old Magpie dinosaur like me got through it. And let me say, it was well worth the read.I did myself a favour and ignored this due to the length.
As you said, this is way off Wests v Manly chatter -You mean the same Hamas that Netanyahu was supplying bags of cash in the years before Oct 7? The same Hamas maintained by Israel to keep the Palestinian leadership divided?
(Sorry to those actually wanting actual footy chat in this thread).
So if you’re not insulted why do you think others would be? My wife and I have both coached and/or managed our kids teams and I couldn’t care less about having a round for me and the Women getting oneNo...it's insulting to the fathers that get no recognition. They recognise everyone else but the Dads get nothing. Happy for recognition, but they've missed a pretty big one there.

Perhaps the women's baseball was not subsidized by the MLB, I'm not sure. But unless there is a complete 180 as far as lifting up the womens game goes, I just see the NRLand AFL continuing to subsidise the respective women's leagues. The WNBA has been around over 30 years now without having ever made a profit.I think if you read the history of women’s baseball in the USA ( movie -A League of their own) it was more a publicity exercise than a real attempt to capture its own market. The league lasted from 1945-1954 and after initial hype and attendance, spectators drifted back to the men’s game.
I believe a similar situation is developing with the ladies game in both AFL and NRL. I reckon about 5 years will see it out.
its a woke world ,.The ladies will survive in some form , at what cost ?I think if you read the history of women’s baseball in the USA ( movie -A League of their own) it was more a publicity exercise than a real attempt to capture its own market. The squeaky wheel gets the grease big boySo if you’re not insulted why do you think others would be? My wife and I have both coached and/or managed our kids teams and I couldn’t care less about having a round for me and the Women getting one
You're boringSo I guess you're anti Magic Round too 🤔
Well...there you go. Becaise you don't care it makes it alright. I have aboriginal friends that don't care about indigenous round...lets scrap it? No...why? It's not about you.So if you’re not insulted why do you think others would be? My wife and I have both coached and/or managed our kids teams and I couldn’t care less about having a round for me and the Women getting one
I wouldn't worry about anything to do with the Women's AFL. Its a sinking ship. Ive noticed more media for it in recent weeks. They are just throwing money at it trying to spark interest, but no one cares because it's a sh1t product.Just getting in on the anti-woke stuff...I understand where people are coming from with criticising these gestures. I guess the main interest from the NRL is revenue raising. Women of league and indigenous round allow for merchandise and media attention and work to build their inclusive less macho image, which is crucial in the modern landscape. It's just a reality of modern corporate world. Despite that cynical appraisal I think you have to be incredibly sensitive and wound up to find that offensive. Raising awareness of women in league and indigenous culture, whether profit and image driven or not, is not a problem.
What annoys me though is that aflw gets lead story in the sports report this morning on the abc after the Penrith v storm game last night. They do big report and interview for aflw first round and then the briefest mention of the league result with no interview or mention of its significance. Sydney is a rugby league town, how is it we end up giving more time to aflw? I'm not criticising aflw, great that women's sport is going so well, but there's just far more attention on the NRL and this was a crucial match in the context of the season and was a classic, yet a nothing game gets foregrounded.
...a history of differing perspectives. I'd be happy to chat peacefully on the subject if there was a dedicated thread. On topic threads give the forum it's value. As you said, this is way off Wests v Manly chatter -
but I might point out that the Palestinian Authority have for many years also supplied bags of cash. Their cash has gone to the families of terrorists who have died in their quest to murder Israelis (The Martyrs Fund).
This is the same Palestinian Authority that our PM is now throwing his full support behind to solve the impossibly complex Middle East brouhaha 🤷♂️
Some see enough news and politics already, footy topics should be free from it. Dedicated threads give forumers the choice.you old fashioned clerks make me laugh., A pigeon must roost in its specified hole - that's the way to keep it all neat n tidy
