LIVE GAME Round 24 vs. Rabbitohs

Live Game Discussion
Mason looks really good as a prospect. He has that sharp cutting low to ground speedy you can't coach. Just have to tidy his play up.

I was really disappointed with twals defensive work. He was always around the ankles and no strength. In attack he lacked punch as usual. He's not had a good year.

Pole once again over Stefano. Stefano defensively is really poor. He hasn't developed that part of his game at all.

Api gets played too long. Cant they see it? Took him off at a weird time with 25 to go and then brought him back into middle with da Silva with 15 to go when we really needed a big body like papalii.

Papalii should have been moved to the middle earlier in the season and we should have kept him. He can play.

The biggest thing: we need to work on strength and tackling technique. When your game falls apart as ours did in the 2nd half you need to be able to fall back on tackling well and we just got shredded. We all talk about luai changing us, but he can't change our strength in the tackle. That has been our issue and it is still our issue. This season it's no better, or perhaps worse, than its ever been.

So relieved to get the win. Well done, tigers.
Yeah I'm praying we get some new capable defensive coaches ASAP... and someone to help Benji

Papali’i 171m from 17 hit ups and 34 tackles in 48 minutes.
Why TF did we let him go?
And why was he off the field for so long ?
He has wanted to play as a middle forward since he was in his last year at Parramatta.
Can only imagine how good he will look at the Panthers next year as a rotation middle forward 😩

Poor old Sam F is running out of steam … he was close to our best player the first half of the year ..but has been on the slide a while now …

Still …gotta remember he is only 20 years old and has played a lot of NRL minutes in a terrible pack …. I think he has an Origin level ceiling couple of years down the track
Sione had more runs than his brother and only played 22 minutes!

It's a hard one to understand. The final outcome will depend on who we sign and how they perform.

Why are yiu comparing him to a champion?
He's had 4 games ffs.
Give him a break
I think it was Paws who compared him to a champion. Obviously he's not even close at the moment, just a kid. But if a small kid is going to make it he needs to be a consummate professional and go the extra mile.
And he should be working on his game in the obscurity of Cup

I predicted earlier this year he will win another Dally M positional at Penrith. We really botched having him here.

You don't become a first grader in reserve grade... As Sheens used to say and I agree on this... 50 NRL games before you can call yourself a first grader... Sometimes more

In the press conference, Benji said he would've loved to give Galvin a rest but he doesn't have any other options.

Interesting statement.
Wasn’t all the talk in Pre-season that Bud sees himself as a HB and wants Sezer’s jersey. Maybe that’s why he isn’t considered to replace Galvin.

75m in 22 minutes. Has great footwork and an offload. It is imperative we develop this guy.

His brother had his worst game of the year unfortunately. Maybe the drain if the season is getting to young Sam, because tonight he was close to worst on field. Needs to get to the end of the year.
I reckon Sam will be up for next week against Manly except he lines up against Haumole!

Well it was a stinker of a game one we lose 9 out of 10 times, we almost clutched defeat out of the jaws of victory but hey we somehow won.
Those are the games we were losing throughout the year, we’re also 1 win better off than the previous 2 seasons I think?
I’ll take the win and the rub of the green finally, enjoy while you can.

Our biggest issue is defensive technique on the fringes but realistically everyone of our players needs to perfect one on one ball and all tackling around the chest.
